So, then, I assume that if have an open trade during that time with a stop loss and a spike blows through it, the stop will not trigger-?

Also, if I have an EA running during the rollover, will the EA automatically restart or do I have to do it manually?

That tick has a time stamp of 5PM which is during roll over, when trading is suspended. During rollover is the most likely time for a bad tick to get through.

I alway disconnect at 4:58PM and reconnect after rollover is completed. Most platforms have a way to edit out bad ticks if they end up in the history data, and to filter them if they occur during trading. No matter what the data feed, bad ticks do occur from time to time, hence the software designers have built in handleing for this eventuality.

It's actually very common. They really need to fix this as it disturbs the daily chart.

They need to fix their tick charts too. Spikes everywhere. Minute charts are not a good substitute.

Since trading is suspended no order would get triggered by that spike.

I don't use MT4 so I can't answer the question about what what do do with a script that is running through rollover. Maybe someone else here can.

I agree tick charts are the bees knees especially in such a spikey market as FX... they help to smooth out the data with no lag because of the way they are constructed.

The bad ticks are very rare during normal trading hours. I've used feeds from several vendors for futures data in the past, and MB's data is as clean as the top of the line suppliers like Zenfire or eSignal. Bad ticks are just a fact of life you have to accept.

I don't know why they have to keep broadcasting the quote server during rollover. Maybe that is something they can change if we ask them to.

For the bad ticks that rarely but do occur during normal trading hours, one has to use their software by either filtering for bad ticks or manually editing them out. Sadly thats true no matter where the data comes from.

I am looking at getting a account with mbt , I have EA's running around 5pm est , what happens to the orders at that time does the platform stop ?

Also I would be interested in what the spreads and liquidity are like at that time of day .

With years of effort learning how to trade reading countless books & been ripped off using MT4, confident with my trading system & indeed of my abilities I am now in the hunt for a professional broker. Now coming from MT4 coming to terms with entry & exit terminology is a learning curve so naturally I may have a question or two.

After reading many favourable reports on the net & magazines I thought I'd give MB Trading Pro platform a go. Platform is terrific. But, customer service is non existent. I have been requesting assistance with live chat for the past hour only to be queued & kicked off live chat four times. When I finally got through & asked my question my assistant went quiet. Not a word in reply. I sat idol for half an hour.

Again the hunt is on for a professional broker. As traders we need a broker we can trust. When asking questions of a platform with no reply how can we put our hard earned $$$$$ with them.

Not recommended.

It must have been closed. If you don't get a message saying you are "x place in line," then it's closed. But I agree, they should fix that.

Otherwise, the chat line can last ~5-15 minutes. I just browse the internet in the meantime.

Justin - Simple suggestion to improve the platform's performance:

Give us the option to whether or not apply the daily pivots to previous days. Currently, when daily pivots is on, it calculates and marks pivots along with today/yesterday high, low, close *for everyday in view*, which is not necessary for everyone.

I think this eats up a lot of performance, because I'm suffering performance problems I never had, and it's requiring me to restart the platform, even in between trades. Plus, when you zoom out to see previous days' price action, the chart is not readable with so many lines.

Indeed it was open, 2pm onwards, as I was in a queue of 4 & when my turn came the chat would open the assistants name was displayed then quickly close again. This repeated four times prior to my post & many after. But most importantly the chat widow fully opened with a brief chat then when I asked the question I had no response. I sat idol for 30 min. The only way I received a response was when I posted here as the assistant commented he had seen this post. Immediately my request was answered. My question was perhaps too basic, how do you move stop loss on open positions? That's it. It took nearly 2 hours to get a response & was told for such a question I should have sent an email. Basically don't bother us with such a basic question. Well as far as I'm concerned online assistance is there just to help with, yes perhaps, basic & mundane too complex issues. But that is their job to serve such questions. To be a business partner, which a traders broker is, trust is required by both parties. I'm affraid any trust built has been dilluted.

Duggy - i had the same happening to me, altho different form (eSignal). Turned out that it was a browser issue and the rep couldnt see what i typed, so closed out the chat everytime. Its possible that the problem is of technical nature.

I have a mt4 forex account with MB..on two occasions I have put in an order at market (with this order type you cannot put in SL/PT until order accepted),then when I attempted to modify order for SL/PT I recvd msg "tarde context busy, this went on for 4-5 attempts, meanwhile trade is going against me with no SL. then I attempted to close order and recvd same msg..finally I called order desk and had order cancelled. Then I was transferred to another rep for explanation of problem, reply was it seems to be a bank problem???duhhh now I looking for another ECN forex broker..

Please private message or email me your account number and date/times of these events. While it is possible for an order to get stuck at a bank, the odds of it happening twice to the same client in a short period of time are awfully small. I would like to research this further.

Not a browser issue nor tech. The issue is customer service arrogance.

There is nothing arrogant about our customer service. There is a known issue in certain browser situations where people pop up in our Chat, but we can’t see what they are typing based on the browser version and plug-ins that they have. We answer all questions. I would suggest that you either email me directly and I will forward your questions to the correct group or try calling in. If you are simply trying to use the software, we have detailed webinars throughout the month that are Live and can show you how to do this.

I have noticed on other forums where comments similar to mine have been posted. When selecting a broker a trader should first decide what is important to there requirements. About a month ago in my quest for a new broker I narrowed my selection to several possible brokers. Customer service I regard highly as when in an open position should an issue occur requiring direct assistance that service being promoted should be provided as such. Therefore prior to downloading a new platform & learning how to use it I now ask a series of simple to more complex questions of customer service both via live chat, if provided, over the phone & of course via email. I suggest to traders seeking a new broker to test this facility as one day your money may just be on the line more than anticipated. I am now trialing a new broker.

Just curious is MBT ever going to have a 5pm EST closing ??
Instead of a 12 midnite NY time closing


All the run around with a 5pm est rollover is just not cutting it.
