Oops - now the 15M is looking like a bounce long trade so I will a while. I've never done very well with the bounce style but BigE has. p

Here's a little one I knocked up for this method. It's an EA and moves the stop to SBE+1 at a specified profit.

It also trails the stop by using the previous HA candle low/high. (this is estimated, using an MA and pretty close).

It should keep you in for most good runs ( if you notice the HA candles usually step nicely for a trailing stop when you have a decent run).

All is selectable:

 

  1. Trail_before_profit - True/False. If true it trails immediately on each candle, if false it waits until a set profit is reached. (default is false).
  2. Trail_after_Pips_profit - If the previous setting is false, the EA will not trail the stop until we are this many pips in profit.
  3. Auto_SBE_plus_one - True/False. (default is true).
  4. SBE_plus_one - If the previous setting is true, EA will move stop to SBE+1 when we hit this many pips profit.
  5. Pips_buffer - How may pips above below previous candle tp trail (default is 1).

I was in the same trade as it was heading for TP then lost half the profit, decided to close and take the other half.

I am also in a buy trade with aus/usd and in a small DD ATM, watching this one closely also. I think this might be a bad trade as the TDI is now sideways.

Here's my personal take on three Hourly trades from the London session overnight.
1. EUR/USD decent short signal for successful 1:2 bounce-trade. (+50/60)
2. AUD/USD good looking entry, but exit on 3rd candle when color changed. (-5/10)
3. NZD/USD setting up for a short, but TDI never crossed and 1st red candle didn't close below 5ma and 2nd was blue. No entry. (0)

This week Monday & Wednesday have been very successful, whilst Tuesday & Thursday have been disaterous. Clearly this is due to 1) heavy news releases, uncertainty in the market, 2) overtrading when I should accept not trading at all and lowering risk when I do.

I have now decided that I will categorize my days, and base my risk accordingly:

Cat 1: Little to no major news, some trending markets, very little wicks on major pairs - Risk at full - trade aggressively

Cat 2: Normal day, with some news - varied market but with some clear direction with healthy HA candles - Risk at full - trade normaly

Cat 3: Heavy news - market inconsitant as it waits for release; NFP, Greece talks, threat of intervention looming etc- Consolidating market, some large wicks 1 or 2 trades max after news release at 50% of what I normaly risk - NO 4hr BIG E London session trades

Cat 4 - Massive hangover - NO TRADES

I'm hoping to strictly trade the good days but more importantly be able to know a good day from a bad one prior to risking any capital. On a good day I average 4/5 trades win, so clearly this is the way for me to go.


Any thoughts and ideas, i would love to hear, thanks.

Hi and I hope someone can help....

I run the TMS Watchdog on my charts and decided that instead of the pink tail on the tdi (if you use it you know what I mean) I wanted it to show the last bar as a green tail (to blend with the rest of the RSI) and I didn't need it double thickness as set in the Watchdog default.

So I went into properties on one of my charts and changed the colour and thickness from the default colour 'Magenta' to 'Green' and changed the line thickness from '2' to '1' (as per the picture).

However..... I noticed as I clicked OK to close the properties window that the 'slope' figure changed. I assumed it was just a timing issue; I then carried on changing my other charts (manually because of the template issue with Watchdog) and I noticed that every time I changed the thickness of the line (where it says 'LastBarWidth' from 2 to 1 then it changed the slope value on the chart.

Can someone tell me what's going on, does it matter, is it a bug, should I alter my 4.5+ mental rule for a trade or should I just change the width back to 2 and forget about it....?

What are the best times to enter a trade as a day trader? There is no 100% window, but I have found the “truest” and most consistent impulses at the following times:

1 Hour before the London open to 2 Hours after the London Open (well known).
1 1/2- 2 Hours after the NY open (after Dow open).
1 hour after the Asian open.

During scalping and/or day trading, the signals during these times tend to have the most momentum, that is, less whip sawing or hesitation. I find when I enter a day trade outside of these times, my targets may eventually be attained, but price action tends to drift more – requiring much more patience on my part. Day trades entered during the windows above tend to reach targets more quickly and directly.

Unless there are other additional compelling signals based on my rules and plan, I initially look for the best signals during these time windows. The days for greatest volume are usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, there are opportunities everyday, mostly at the times listed above.

Please remember these are observed tendencies. Nothing is 100% accurate.

Tempting too as well. But i was concentrate of the USD news, and think it'll go up like E/U. But then again E/J doesn't concern about USD at all Lol!

I think i need a break, it's all mess up in my head now.
