Been pretty good for me tonight few disconnections nothign to worry abotu and some good execution times.

EVERY disconnection is a dangerous issue for the trader.. Execution times have been way better in the past. Stopped trading with GO.

Disconnects, laggy execution and I cant find certain pairs? They miss in MT4, wtf?

So here I sit and work, sort of, I just closed a position and here it is 2 minutes later and i`m waiting to see where oh where is it gonna stop, I`m frozen in go hell, time is 9.12 p.m e.s.t

What i was doing last night was having another brokers demo account going on another monitor, and when i noticed go's summary thing stop flashing, i force it to another data server.

Yeh probably best to avoid the more volatile pairs on GO if you're trading very short term positions.

Yes I use another companys demo to let me know when my go is down and yes I try switching between sydney and melbourne or I just shut it down and start it back up, no way to try to make a living.

Yeah that's a good lesson. At one point, it becomes 'shame on me' doesn't it? Everyones responsibility to get their infrastructure sound after all.

I'm just beginning the live account phase so being with go and seeing how bad platform reliability can get probably saved me a much more expensive lesson later on, lol. Great real life example of why its common to read people having a number of brokers and trading accounts etc now.

Still I hope go can fix themselves. Its definitely an issue for scalpers/intraday/annoucement traders. Its like being a delivery driver and having 4 bald tires. Actually, probably 3 bald tires and one flat, and still going on your daily business, trading with a platform that disconnects at key times of a day.

I don't enjoy putting the boot into GO- and I am holding out hope all will be good come Monday - but....my email has no problem receiving advertising fluff from GO, but anything of substance eg: outage issues, changes of policy etc.... nah, why would I want that!

Yeah they are ridiculous!
Trade with tighter spread, the fastest execution and the best technical analysis... every morning in my email!!!

just received this mail:

Dear Client,

This weekend whilst the market is closed we are undertaking some scheduled maintenance of our MetaTrader 4 live server infrastructure. We will be installing a new Cisco firewall to improve connection and execution speeds, to ensure the best possible experience for traders.

In addition to the upgrades and maintenance we will also be installing a third MetaTrader 4 live server to cope with the rapid expansion of our client base and to keep up with demand. Whilst this will not impact the majority of you, some clients will need to login to a new location in order to gain access to trading on Monday morning. If you are one of the affected clients you will be emailed instructions on Sunday on what steps you will need to take in order to access the system.

Please note that over the weekend whilst the works are taking place there may be periods where you are unable to login to your trading platform. As the market will be closed during these times the impact to you will be minimal.

If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I think we all got that message, no mention of removing this stupid 2 pip rule.

I will be checking to see if others have it, if not then I will probably be leaving as well.

Agreed deciding to shut down the platform with no notification to traders is very poor, you would think it would be prudent to let clients know when you are taking the platform offline!

I agree with that statement 100%. This is one area that GoM can improve on. They know how to use email for technical brief.....so they can equally know how to use that mailing list to send out important updates.

Technically any broker can do this. But I think Chris will give you a more appropriate answer.

Thanks for the question. I can confirm that one of the permissions in MetaTrader 4 does allow our manager platforms to send through prices manually. However, I shoudl point out that I am the only GO Markets employee that has this access and it is only there so that should a price freeze for whatever reason, we could send through a more accurate price. It is not something we do on a day to day basis, in fact I have probably done it about three times ever.

I think you are asking in a round about way whether we would put prices in to mess with people's trades, the answer is no. Seeing as I am the only one with such access, I can confirm that nobody does this. Usually in the evenings I am playing football or down the pub and during the day I have more important things to do, like chat to you all on here!

It would have been good to get an email or mt4 mail, at least for some reassurance..... but I would hate to sound like a broken record.
