Agree, had an overnight short from 3750 to 3709 but waiting for direction now. Dip buy around 364 is worth a try, target around 3794. Tight SL, there is still a risk to the downside.

I did some research on your question. Jesse Livermore used 20% reaction as a sign of trend reversal. But he combined this with the following:

1. First reaction after a break is generally very strong.

2. After every break there is a reaction. If reaction is normal, watch for danger signs. But if a reaction is small, the next reaction though normal would be of many pips.

3. Normal reaction occur quickly. First few highs/lows are small but then they get bigger

4. Buy/sell only if market proves you right, that is, price has broken the PPZ (Gator's MoFu). Sometimes it comes back to retest PPZs but other times it may not. (He referred to Price Pivot Zones or MoFu as Pivot Points)

I don't understand. Why traders buy €??? In a few days (maybe 2 or 3, maybe less), the € will be at 1.35... It is crazy. I am still in position. TP 1.3491 with some lots at 1.3715 and 1.3750

Wow Chicky good post! Thanks! Need to think about every sentence here. How would you distinguish between normal reaction and small reaction? I'm guessing it just depends on the instrument your trading but very interesting.

Looser has at least some quality but EURUSD bear has no quality.
Used full force at 3747 which was totally unnecessary. 80-85 retracement time could use this force at 53-54 region. Dumb

I don't know what he considered a normal reaction, but I use 50% of the last daily bar as normal reaction.

You may like to read Jesse's book "How to Trade Stocks" or with a title similar to this. I only had some notes to refer to, that I took while online reading that book on one of the free websites. This book also contains scanned copies of Jesse's actual records ( I hope they are genuine)explaining how he calculated support/resistances.
