Just note , though at this low got the mofu but not checked actually 50% fib there or not & now see one there for a bigger wave at 3492 , same level daily tf 400 ma low about to break there over big buying climax old 3457 and 3387.

Im thinking of developing an EA, but i heard that using it requires comp. to be on whole time (for best results) and i heard brokers hate profitable EAs. I've heard from friends who do the business, that they give excuses for frequent server breakdowns.

Im doing well in manual.

Should i go with my development?

Hi

I wonder if anyone could help and apologies that this is a repeated post from last night. But because I am a junior member by the time the post is accepted the thread has moved on.

I have put this on this thread since the question arises after working my way through 12000 Cloggie posts and I should like to understand how I go about calculating or rather what data I should use to calculate the London session pivot and the afternoon pivot (to which Cloggie has referred to previously; others as well). I had wondered at the following:

 

  1. London Session pivot - 4am-8am 4Hr bar
  2. Afternoon pivot (is that the NY session pivot)? - 8am-12am.

I am working my way through J Murphy's book but I am not sure he includes much about pivots and if he does it is with regards daily, weekly and monthly.

Since taking a two year break from work (since Feb 2010) I have spent 2500-3000hrs on intra day charts, the same again looking over historical charts so I know there is no easy ride and I realise there is a long way to go but I am getting there I think. But having Googled 'session pivots' 'afternoon pivots' with no joy I thought I would ask here.

From reading Cloggie's and Magix I now have rolls, pivots, Fib extensions as potential pivots/S&Rs. It is well worth the time reading their archives. I am going to work through Sisse's next!

probably wasting your time cause 1 day EA will blow up you account like a suicide banker but you can get a forex vps so you can run 24/5 with out the need of your own pc being turn on, instead of coding a EA put hours it take coding it by turning yourself into a EA to trade

why not if you have the all intelligence to input the variables with time or options set manually for special care to mofu line , price action patterns at least classical one one to recognize , other patterns type , waves , money mangements & overall frequent changes in the fundamentals to gauze the overall activities news times & others going on , overal if can controll activies with most changes can try one best , not inbuild with artificial intelligence but manual input them ok also .

A tough job & every perhaps failed so far .

programming an EA is not a waste of time so long you know what you're doing. I have one that has not blown my account and will never blow it because if it does, that means I would've too. There's a big difference between buying EAs off the shelf and programming your own.

As for me, my EA does exactly what I would do if I was sitting in front of my T-desk. Getting a vps is good but also a bad idea. If your EA turns out to be profitable, they steal your code. Just get an old laptop at a cheap price, construct a UPS from a car battery and you're good. (i.e. if you do not have uninterrupted mains supply).

It's my third year writing EAs and I stand to be corrected.
