well buying at 1.3978 is a great entry in my book as it provides a good R:R, so nothing wrong wth that.

Good for scalps anyway. I have done it twice already at 1.3982 for 35pips each and I have reloaded at 1.3981 for the 3rd time this evening (already +20pips on that one as I type this msg). It still is countertrade but 1.3977 is holding for the moment...
If 1.4020 is taken I have 1.4040 and 1.406 next.

But as I say it is countertrade trading so micro managing it. What would be not so great is to enter the trade above 1.398x...

phanti.. missed you buddy... Cloggie's been around today... hammering rattyo as usual, apparently Cloggie's view is not to long as Rattyo suggests at 1.3978... i am tending to agree with him...
yawn its nice to see ol'cloggie doing his routine magic...

I'm taking a long view on the EUR right now, small limited position. Based on the daily we could see a bounce.

It's not too often that you get a trend line and a moving average in the same area. Regardless of where price goes, it will not stay in this area long.

tomorrow we should get the answer. It might bounce now as its really close to the trendline now, but looking at fund's it doesnt look green for EUR. We'll see whats stronger, AT or funds.

good night

Hi all

This is my 1st post here, am seeking advice on slippage issues
I went long eurusd at 0400 NY time 6 Sep at 1.4118, then at 0402-0403, the SNB decision about eurchf rate came out, price of eurusd shot up 100+ pips, basically the pip count went past my initial tgts by a lot. I tried to close my trades as market orders, and got slipped abt 30+ pips (my p/l statement showed only X amt as profit, but according to the mkt price that I closed at, it shd be X + Y amt)

I contacted my broker (a big company with U.S. and Canada Offices) and they said that during news release, slippage of 30+ pips is normal, slippage can even go up to 100+ pips. Normally I never trade during news release, but I do observe that during news release the spread offered by my broker can be up to 10 pips, and the price fluctuate wildly on both metatrader's prices and my broker's prices. What I would like to check with you guys here is that if you traded eurusd today, did you experience slippage ard 0402-0403 NY time when you closed your trade, and is slippage of 30+ pips, even up to 100 pips normal(Basically, is my broker smoking me)?

Though I have traded forex for 1 plus yr now, this is the 1st time I exerienced major slippage on closing my trade. I seldom trade, or is still in a trade ard times of news release. Would appreciate you guys here sharing your experiences. Thanks a lot!
