Should a noob stay away from commodities? I mean I tried once with oil but a spike and a gap totaling 250 pips nearly wiped out my account. Should I use technical analisys or market sentiment or what?
Currently expecting eur/usd 4200 target.

I agree as well with what you said, on a TA basis it worth a shot, but given the NFP coming and the recent fall of the euro it's like guessing which way the wind will blow.
But i'll will take profit as we move up...NFP is always scaring!

Are you looking at any specific area today ?

Sure, the other thread can be a bit intimidating and "elitist" but is good to know that there are still quality posters around and not only a monologue of "Cloggie this and Cloggie that..." posters here. As long as there is quality content I am up to chat anywhere so...

Yeap I PM to a fellow trader and posted my view yesterday for NFP:

"The positioning that is taking place is for tomorrow NFP. They are not going to break today support in daily before that announcement (1.425x).

They already cleaned stops on that support to have the road open for tomorrow if NFP trigger shorts.

On the other side, Weekly range is about to be completed but the break of last week lows (1.432x) hasn't been tested yet (meaning intra-day momentum down) but as soon as they retest that level (today or tomorrow) they will clean weak shorts and trigger profit taking from the weekly sellers from highs @ 1.454x opening the door for a rejection of weekly lows on NFP (if trigger longs)/Tuesday combo (Monday is Holiday in the US)"

In simple words, 1.416x my level down and 1.437x to the top. Looking for both sides today but need proper entries....

Eventually this may be true however in the meantime there will be a humungous mess in trying to resolve who owes what, where and when as the elephant known as PIIGS is unwound. If it comes to EU ejection more likely than not the resulting chaos will initially see investors screaming for the hills. Think of it this way, when you get an amputation on necrotic limb the result will be you will eventually feel heaps better. Doesn't alter the fact that you will lose a shit load of blood and quite a bit of healthy flesh during the operation.

Thanks! I share your view, and interesting enough big banks forecast are setting a drop for Q4 followed by a rise in 2012 Q1, which might be in line with this descritpion!!

I can't see higher than 1,4320-30, but i agree with 1,416x...time will tell
I'm out now, price ain't going anywhere at the moment.
