Trading Made Simple EA by Guess Whom

I don't understand why it doesn't trade more than it does at the moment. Maybe its the candle direction setting, it frequently seems to be yellow, what does this do just confirm the candle is heading north or south? what does yellow mean (static?)

Just joined FX Factory,Is there anyone help me find instructions for setting up this Ea please?

Candle direction is a candle pattern its looking for.
Yellow just means it does not meet one of the following.
Also it should not trade after the close of the third GREEN candle, it could take a trade on the third GREEN candle. If I change that to no trades after the second GREEN candle it may cut into good trades to much.
I am trying to cut down on the number of false triggers on the one or two candle swings, just trying to catch the long runs if possible.

Here are the patterns: Candle colors are:
Long = Red-Red-Red-Green-Present Bid above Open
OR
Long = Red-Red-Red-Green-Green-Present Bid above Open

Short trade is the opposite.

To really see why a possible good trade didn't take place you have to be watching at that moment and see what is stopping it. If everything is LONG accept one alert than you can maybe set that alert to false.

If anyone has any ideas on how to change this please post it. I could have different patterns that would be selectable in the settings by setting which ones you want to use to true or false.

In the morning when I get up I look through the charts from the previous night to see if there are any that look like the EA may have missed. Once in a while I see one that could maybe have been a trade, but without seeing it at the exact time and what the EA was seeing its hard to know, better safe than sorry. Last night I had no trades, and just one the previous night for around 137 pips I think it was. I only do the London and part of the NY session so sometimes a trade is missed because it triggered before the London open.

Thanks for your response. So if I turned off candle direction it might start trading on 4th candle or later?

Here is a very easy way to get the trendlines, even without compressing your screen view.

 

1. When you are looking at the chart, hit CTRL and B at the same time. This brings up a list of all the objects on your chart.
2. Find the trendline in this list and double click on it.
3. This opens up a settings screen for that trendline. Go to the parameters tab.
4. You can see two fields marked "Value". The top one is the left point of the trendline (the left one of the three "handles" that appear when you click a trendline, I believe), and the lower one is the right point. Put new values in these "Value" fields that correspond to prices that are visible on your chart.
5. Et voila! You can now close the window showing the trendline properties and the window showing the list of objects on your chart, and you can see the trendline repositioned on your chart as per the values you have just entered. You can leave it there, or move it around as usual.

This should solve any issues anyone is having with finding these trendlines without Seller9 needing to do any more work on the EA itself.

I got three buy trades on H1 on AUDUSD, EURGBP at 9:00 am CST (US) and one on USDCAD at 1:00 pm. Look like they are all late to the party.

Can you post the screen shots that were taken when the trades were placed so we can see what the EA saw at that point in time.
I can't see what the alerts were at the time of the trade, narrow your TDI window.

Also, go into chart properties and check the "Chart Shift" box to get the candles out of the alert area.

The original TMS EA that follows BigE's rules was written by Steve H and is posted in post #1. Please feel free to use it. The adaptation of that one is the one I posted with changes made to my liking and from input from other users in this thread. My idea was to make an EA that would just "TIC" along on its own at a steady pace (H4) without having to watch it constantly. My idea was to check it out before bed and again when I got up in the morning. It was designed to be used on the H4 time frame, although tests by others on different time frames are under way. Because of this it may be a little slow to respond at the shorter time frames and be late getting into a "Scalping" type of trade that it was not designed for. This is not to say that in the future versions we could create additions that will make it work in these other time frames.

So far I have no account record to show how GREAT or BAD it is or any account record of the original post #1 either. Don't think any EA is going to make you a Million Bucks while you sleep, only the $99 ones can do that, and they have the account records to prove it.

So give both EAs a try and please post your results so we can all become rich.

All ideas are welcome if they have a sound foundation and could be added to the EA.

Only if you have "Use5ema" set to true. If false it ignors the 5ema.

Thanks for the reply. Could you sum up what are the entry and exit rules we have so far?

Look in your files folder and there should be a screen shot of when the trade was taken.
Also your TDI Window #1 is covering up the alerts so I can't see what they were, shrink your TDI Window.

The only fixed entry rule is the TDI Cross, and TDI Slope, the others can be turned on or off as you wish.

No, this is just a safe guard. The TDI logic Cross will only let it trade on the 1st or second candle close. So it may take a trade on the third candle if TDI has crossed on the first or second candle and then all the other alerts are the same color when its on the third candle.
If TDI were to cross at the close of the third candle no trade should open, TDI needs to cross at close of first or second candle.
Since I am using static TDI Cross, it only changes at the close of the candle. So cross on close one or cross on close 2 for trade and possible other alerts on candle three to fullfill the alert requirement if they weren't fullfilled durring candle one or two.

Sounds messy, hope it makes sence.

also the settings for "CANDLE CLOSE" cannot be turned ON or OFF ? was gonna test it off but .... unless im not seeing it or it's part of the TDI comfirmations settings

Here I have another Trade Closed on TDI Cross.

I have 3 snapshots (of the same trade)put on top of each other. The bottom picture is taken by V12. The next picture with vertical line and Alert are manual snapshots.

From the chart it is very clear that there is only one TDI cross.
The point to note is that the trade closes after one bar (opening of a new candle). So many changes can happen during that bar_time. (That's the error I made on post *837)

Caution for those using this feature (especially on higher TF).

Version 12 there's an option to turn off candle direction but not candle close, your right.
