For somebody that has tried so hard for so long to be profitable you would think that hopwood would have updated his old generic template so most people could use his contributions without the same crap we encounter for years. Bugs Bugs and more bugs, whats better Off or Cutters? Whats hopwood 100% Deet?

I am no expert on the Magic Number but here is how I see it.

I have the same EA "V12" on 12 different Pairs on 12 different charts and use the Magic Number "0" without any problems. (I have had it on up to 24 Pairs also). Since the EA only trades the time frame you have it set for in the settings you can move between time frames with this Chart with this pair without any problems.

Now if I were to open another chart of the same Pair and attach the same EA or even a different EA to this new chart I should then use a different Magic Number for this second EA and chart on the same Pair so the EA knows which Pair belongs to it.

With the TMS EA it only sends the Magic number with the original "OrderSend" function.
For "OrderClose" and "OrderModify" it uses the "OrderTicket" and not the Magic Number.
It does not use the "OrderDelete" function so no need to worry about that.

In the way I am using the EA I have run into no problems.

I hope this is correct.
If in dought just use different magic Numbers.

Edit: One other thing to watch out for if taking manual trades on the same Pair that you have EAs running on, if you don't use a magic number with the EA it may be possible that the EA may take over your manual trade.

Didn't steve make it so in the original code that the magic number is auto generated?

Just looked through the code of what I have as the original and the magic number is not auto generated as far as I can see. It is entered in the EA settings.

So if I use 2 different brokers, trade the same pair on both, eg. h1 on one and h4 on the other, there is no concern in this situation regarding Magic Numbers. Please confirm. Thanks again for your prompt response.

sorry i did'nt go into details, but i see you already got your answer, since im using only 1 broker, i always change the Magic Numbers just in case, it creates glitches between orders or EA's had some problems in the past, now it's just a good habit of mine

also thanks Seller9 for answering the question, it's good to know how the TMS EA handles the orders with the "OrderTickets"

I have been quietly observing this thread and as you can see mainly thanks to seller9 the thread has a life of its own. Mind you I am surprised after 30 hours no one replied to your post.

As you know many traders are using TMS to trade profitably and the only drawback for working people like us is the need to constantly monitor the charts. however thanks to your EA and seller9`s dashboard and modifications this problem seems to be solved. I am planning to give it a try pretty soon.

Good morning peeps! (+8 GMT),

I have been intently following TMS thread by eelfranz and have been trading his system with a low level of profit generally because I am unable to trade the London session given work obligations.

I am looking into this EA to trade the London ones for me.

For honest opinions, it's best to ask those who have fully tried the system before and as such it brings me here tapping on the keyboard.

Has anyone tested this EA on long term? What is the Win to Lose ratio or percentage like?

What are the settings you use (pref from someone with Gain capital account).

Also, when you trade this EA, do you trust it with full lots or you reduce your risk substantially by using micros?

Please do advise on the above matter(s).

All relevant inputs are greatly appreciated in advance!!

Thats right as you would be on two different MT4 platforms, one for each Broker. I have also done that with a demo acount on one Broker and a live acount on another, both running the same Pairs with the same EA.

Does it take the same trades on the two different brokers?

After observing for a while, I have noted the followings:

1)Suggession: The TrendLines are placed at random. Can they be placed say plus and minus 50pips from the price line, so it can be seen on a M15 chart.

2)Need rectification: When I placed the first SELL TL and then moved it to y position. After a while I placed the BUY TL and I noted that the Sell TL has disappeared off the screen (moved to 0.00000). No way to retreave it even by squeezing the Price scale. (This happens when you place TL on 2 occasions.)

3)No trade so far, even when price crosses TL and change to new candle.

At TMS_V12_MTF Input settings Use Counter Trend are turn off (false), But on screen it saying:"Counter Trend active". Cannot figure out, what is wrong?
Also have today 2 Counter Trend against market and Stop/Loss hitting like hammer very fast....

I wish Steve would GPL his EAs, that way the source code should always be released when somebody makes changes to it.

Now V12 takes 2 snapshots, one at opening and second at the close with alert.

And it is with the second snapshot that gives a clearer picture and confirmation of my long time suspection that something was wrong with 'Trade closed on TDI reverse cross'.

From the picture below you can see that 'trade closed' does not happens at the first cross as pointed by the GREEN arrow, but on the second cross as shown by the RED arrow. In fact the trade is moving back into our favour. (This assumption is based on V12 is using the same TDI as my chart).

Edit: The chart below was the 2nd snapshot by V12, The Alert was added on to it give easy explanation and viewing.

Will look into 1 and 2. The trend line is only another filter, the other alerts, such as TDI cross and Tdi slope, etc must be in agreement in the same direction as the trend line cross. The candle must also close above or below the trend line for it to be a valid signal.

The lines at this time are placed 200 pips above and below the Bid, on higher time frames this is OK but on lower ones it may be to far away, I will change it to 50.
