Neither first nor second entry is SonicR according to the wave you have drawn. On your chart, I painted where the entry should be placed according to your drawn wave. As of now, it's only uptrend. Also, why have you started drawing such large waves? It's like trading in a different timeframe.

Those are only assumptions. The activity peaked - how can you tell if you cannot see the next 10 candles? Besides, if I load so called 'volume indicator' on a different broker, I get different 'volume' study. So it's subjective and cannot be trusted. After all, it's just a tick count indicator.

Hi, Domas.

You are correct that the first entry is not classic SonicR. It is SC, based as mentioned on 1) highest activity in US session after the price was worked back to highs, and 2) the fact that the first thrust of PA down today was all the way thru the Dragon, which increases chance for profitable short. Forex volume is not a tick count indicator. It is a trade count indicator. With each incoming tick, the total trades since the previous tick are provided. While we do not know the size of the trades, at least we know how many they are. True, each broker has different data based on their own business, but it still reflects the sentiment going on in the market.

Should PA start dropping down thru the Dragon, the second entry will be classic SonicR., with PA having tested the upper half number area twice, and failing that second time, dropping. This would be a case of a PA bounce down off of S&R, which is a perfectly valid classic SonicR setup. They do not all have to be cases of PA passing thru S&R and coming back to S&R, and then bouncing.

Since the SC entry, PA has moved back up a small amount to create what currently looks like it could end up being a double top at S&R. And again, the trading levels increased even more there.

I could just forego any SC entries, and stay with classic SonicR. If that is your point, it is valid. I am sometimes too tempted by what looks like good SC entries. So, Domas, keep after me on this point. I will now renew my efforts to restrain myself to just classic Sonic R.

Thank you, Domas, for caring and sharing. This trade would have been better if I had waited for a double high and then for PA to drop down thru the Dragon. That would be classic Sonic R.

Good call Tah, I see you often over analyzing the market. I suspect you have to 'confirm' to yourself that the position you are in is correct, therefore you predict double tops and create different scenarios for the news. Those things are unnecessary and just introduce additional noise to your judgment. Remember, a few thousand posts ago sonicdeejay said - just trade the waves... It's that simple.

Just in general

People who failed to trade SonicR successfully simply surrendered to their emotions. From those who complained, we (at least I) heard that SonicR gives entry too late and stop loss too large. It is emotionally hard to see your trade triggered and then price backing off. Entering earlier, just like you did in that chart, is also not a successful way of trading. It's simply fear of 'missing the big move'. Taking profits too early - fear of loosing what you already have. Moving stop loss of a losing trade - fear of loosing what you had.

So it's understandable that trading pure SonicR requires discipline, because it tackles many fears of traders. Who wants to sell when price has already dropped 30 pips? Who wants to buy when price has already rallied 30 pips? Well guess what, markets are counter intuitive. It requires big balls, like Muhammad's, to enter a trade based on the rules and stay in the trade until it's either SL or TP. And market tends to reward those who have their emotions and discipline intact.

It's a sign that you care more about the Dragon than the Wave. My advice would be to pay attention to the higher low that you have drawn. If it's broken - that's the real signal of a downtrend. Remember: SonicR = waves and S&R. Mind as well be called SwavesR

You have 2 dark blue horizontal lines on your entry chart.
Does it mean the 2nd line is for your 2nd entry ??

Reminder is that today is Monday and also is GBP Holiday, mean even less trading volume, and volume might be less effective during holiday.

You said above about Forex volume, from some other threads relating to volume, it seem that Forex volume is Tick volume, no mention it as Trade volume, some contradiction views here.
Don't know now what is the correct definition of Forex volume from these MT4 brokers.

For me now, it does not matter too much what is forex volume, just that it can be relevant and it is relative to the broker the trading platform is using.

foxybunny, each incoming tick to MT4 carries with it all the data update since the previous tick......ALL! It is what allows the MT4 platform to function. And with each incoming tick, the number of trades since the last tick is included. Just watch your volume bar to prove it. It might increase by a count of "1" or a count of some other number with each tick. I coded a "Trade Count" indicator that flashed on the screen in big numbers, the number of trades with each tick. It was fascinating to watch. And it really showed when the "Market" was getting excited! But it was far too distracting and has no place in the Sonic R. System. It is in the closet somewhere, collecting dust, and shall remain there.

And yes, the second dark blue line down is the "planned" second entry to the short trade, a classic Sonic R. entry at least several pips beyond the end of the first candle exiting the Dragon. In this case, it is about 8 pips below.

1. I spent the better part of a month creating and testing the levels, so that they would fit with the s+r levels I use along with the Sonic R system and the daily ranges, targets etc.

2. You donīt have to be a coder to enter some levels into a freely provided MT4 tool.

3. If these levels already was invented by another guy - you should...

E/U M15, if price drop to around 1.4500 and just bounced back up immediately, more likely for Long.

If price drop to around 1.447x, then possible Short to have the bigger drop to 1.439x, then a Long from 1.439x.

Perhaps Tue London will offer a clearer picture.

Well, this is clearly a topic of speculation, isn't it? Another viewpoint is that since whole numbers are main S&R areas, the BBs took price the last bit of ways down to it, and then quickly moved the price upwards. Why? One reason could be to encourage traders to go long off this S&R level. Why? So the BBs can continue to short above it. Why? Maybe the price is slated for a good run down off this whole number to upper half number area, maybe not today but tomorrow, or sometime this week. As said, this is speculative.

I think aligater meant S&R area around 1.4537......

And, what is actually happening when the "price is rejected"?
1. BBs ran price up to trigger into the market pending long orders of other traders, so the BBs could do equivalent shorting.
2. BBs ran price up to trigger SLs of shorts of other traders, so the BBs could do equivalent shorting of their own.

Of course to some there are no such thing as BBs that manipulate price in this manner for these reasons, so it must not have happened. Maybe Big Money just wanted to go long in the biggest way at the highest prices, and simply ran out of money there, unable to go long more at even higher prices.

foxybunny, I dug around for the trade count indicator and put it on one of the EU charts, just for fun. It is slow now, so finding a multiple trade tick and getting a picture of it before it is replaced with a single trade tick was somewhat difficult. But PA has been driven again up off the whole number, and in the higher price area multiple trades per tick began again. I managed to get a picture of one. Look in the lower right of the chart sub-window.

Edit: I messed with this old code to remove the decimal portion of the trade count (trades don't come in partial amounts). Price had gone down and was back up again. Again I was able to catch a multiple trade tick before it was replaced with a single trade tick. Multiple trade ticks seem to very quickly be followed by another tick. I missed getting a couple of "3" ticks and even a "4" tick.

Edit: As price moved a bit higher, I missed a "5", but finally managed to capture a "3". Anyway, as you can see, there can be any number of trades brought in on a tick, to be added to the total volume for the current time frame volume bar. Volume is not just the number of incoming ticks during a TF, as you read somewhere else. Volume is the number of trades coming in via the ticks during the TF.
