I'm with ibFX as well and I have 12 pairs on the 1H CTR Both and 7 pairs on the 4H CTR. This overlaps the AUDNZD, EURGBP and GBPUSD (one on each 1H and 4H)...

Just wanted to see what you are currently trading live!

I listed in my range system what I am trading. I dropped the aud/chf though. I am using the 4H CTR only for situational trades right now. Meaning if I see a setup I like I will use it. The trend EAs are very quiet this week. Price is stagnant so they arent going anywhere or doing much.

Monday I posted these pairs as OI trades:
eur/aud +30 did a second trade now at -67
eur/nzd removed the EA stagnant moves
gbp/aud +27
gbp/chf it is at -43
gbp/nzd took two 2L trades at +88 and +67 DD at -331

Boring week, price is stagnant so not much happening. Getting some range trades but that has been slow too. Hopefully things will pick up in Sept. I probably wont be taking anymore trend trades since prices have gone so flat there is little indication of where price will go next.

Also you may really want to consider not doing any buys on Euros. See article below, a bit sensational but the basic truth behind it does exist.

I finished my trades for the week. Finally got some movement.
eur/aud +30 did a second trade now at -67
eur/nzd removed the EA stagnant moves
gbp/aud +27
gbp/chf it is at -43

total 212

eur/aud -85

gbp/chf +65
gbp/nzd 2L added with 1st closed at 0

closed the eur/aud so have no open trades and will not add any except added IO Sell on the eur/cad.

Total for the week +192 no DD. For a slow week it was something.
OOOPPPSSS. I forgot the eur/cad for +85

Total for week +277

I wasnt as lucky as you guys, just had a couple of losses and some small profits. I dont have the time to go to details right now, but i might be doing it wrong. It is now my goal to learn to trade this methood profitably. I still have some trades going on, usdjpy long +22 pips, Eurjpy +48 pip, Eurusd +58 pips, nzdusd -75 pips, but the rest i have closed with a loss or a small profit.
For an example Gbpaud -252 pips. I hope i have more time to give you details so you can show me what im doing wrong.Good luck guys.

No not wrong just a slow ugly week. I managed to squeeze out some profit but I didnt over trade either. I picked my trades Monday and saw the market was ugly so didnt add any more until the eur/cad on Thursday. You have to have patience to learn a system. There were no trends to chase this week. I mean even range and countertrading was ugly. Just squeezed out some profits here and there. Dont worry the news will be ugly enough this fall to chase price movement.

Seems like the RWB Stochs were at the top and turning.

Not really looking at fundamentals on this system. Just look at dailys like Bob says and then verify a good pair with the RWB. G/A was a good outside in. Up 180 now. Up 228 on G/U and 180 on G/C. I know I'm over exposed on GBP but it's on demo and I want to get as many entries so I can learn the system.

The trick for me is figuring when to exit. I guess I'll see when the RWB slows down.

Any other ideas out there???

We both know what a confirmed auto-trader I am, but I am also using all this in my manual trading.

On demo, the volatility on Friday upturned the status of the trades from 5% DD to 5% draw up as the markets resumed their trends/started to move back into their ranges.

I have trades on my live account left over from The Beast, that are miles in the hole and hedged to bejasus. The two moving-averages make a brilliant trend-trade trigger and I am using it to add to the 'winning' trades in the hedges and start to turn over some profit again. Fabulous. I shall close all the trades eventually, without losing much. Even fabulouser.

The moving averages provide the Missing Link for Trendy. We were developing this bot before V10 came along and I put it temporarily into mothballs. We all put the bot onto our demos just as the markets hurtled off in the direction of the W1 trend; doubling the account in days was common. This all evaporated once the retraces started, so we were starting to think about how to deal with this when V10 intervened. I shall return to this bot soon.

Talking of EA's, have you been keeping abreast of BigBob's development? Probably not, as the new term has started. It is developing well and will be ready for live trading soon.

Steve, one of my goals in life is to meet you. Your support with coding is a God send and your efforts are greatly appreciated. You have also introduced me to some great minds in trading and they have been a great help in developing several strategies. I hope to continue to work with you on these projects until one day we have the perfect EA and then the markets will change and ................... well we know what always happens. LOL

I just got finished with my 1st week of school here and my last week of the 4 busiest weeks of my life will come to an end. This year will be much better for me in that I only have 1 full time job teaching and I have the smallest class in the school. Last year I had the largest and worked two jobs. So my free time is expected to go up. The one area I still want to improve is reentering the trend. I have an idea I will test over the next two or three weeks I think may work but ........................ you never know. Thanks for all your help and input.

A. Scalping: The average trade can be just minutes or even seconds. In, out, and done. I tried this and my heart could not take it. The constant pounding and excitement of a trade and staring at a screen drove me nuts. Some people love it.
B. Range trading: Trading between the lines of support and resistance. Since most currencies do this most of the time you can be in a trade for a couple of hours or even days.
C. Trend trading: Generally longer term trading from hours to months depending on what you use to define the trend.
D. Counter trend trading: Price always 100% of the time will retrace at some point. Catch it and go. This is usually short term trading. Most retracements last hours or maybe a day or two.
E. Position trading: Long term trades going for weeks or months. See usd/chf pic above. These guys know their stuff and know that market forces will force a currency in a certain direction for months or even years at a time. I don’t have the patience or personality for this kind of trading. See the usd/chf pic previous page for a good position trade a year ago.

Position traders are heavy into fundamentals. Scalpers trade news stories or use indicators. (Hard to scalp fundamentals) Range, trend, and counter traders usually use a combo of both.

Bob,

Couple of questions on the ea's. I've been using the dailys and I think I get those. (yeah right)

So on the reentry ea's (1h & 4h). Let's say I put those on to reenter the trend...maybe I exited too early on the daily.

So if they enter short (obviously a DT) at the top of the bands is it best to then exit at the bottom of the bands like inferred in the manual or switch back to daily and ride the short until the high hits the bottom MA line.

I hope I have the general idea. I actually think I see a little light at the end of this tunnel.
