Yes, I think I'll try M5 with TP 10 and SL 10.

I've been watching today and you may want to try this...

Use Heiken Ashi candles and take every trade in every direction with a 20 pip trailing stop loss but close the trade when the first Heiken Ashi candles closes against your trade.

If you don't understand any of this ask me.

I've just been through AudUsd and it gave 18 pips today in 5 trades. 1 winner, 3 small losers and 1 BE. It may not sound much but the winner was +40 pips and the biggest loser was -12 so good r/r.

I'm just checking EurUsd now. GbpUsd and UsdChf just don't trade smoothly enough, they look a lot choppier than the other two.

hi Hugh Briss - using other order manager ea's, I'm not very conversant with the MPTM EA - so could you plz post your setfile for the TF M1/M5, M15 ?

There was a 54 pip trade just after 8am on eurusd that would have been enough for me thanks. A few little losses and wins for the rest of the day but after a 54 pip gain on the first trade I wouldn't have bothered trading anything else. Eurgbp looks nice and smooth too but the moves are smaller. Of course the gains are similar because the pip value is higher.

Anyway, I've seen enough and I'll be trying this out with small positions as from tomorrow on eurusd, audusd and eurgbp. 7am to 5pm (BST). Also the more I look at it the more I am inclined to let the 20 pip trailing stop get me out.

Hello, I'm only trading minute 5 and I'm not using that EA, just a simple trailing stop EA which can be found all over the forum.

Thank you, using Heiken Ashi for closing sounds interesting, I'll think it over.

And about the currencies: I think right now EURUSD is the most attractive dollar-based currency, I wouldn't trade AUDUSD, GBPUSD or USDCHF if I can trade EURUSD.

However yen-crosses are different, I think EURJPY and GBPJPY could be a good addition.

Maybe but I think yen pairs tend to be too spiky, unpredictable ups and downs. Also gbpjpy has too high a spread.

I like yen-crosses because they usually have very good movements. As to spikes, I pay attention: I usually trade GBPJPY when GBPUSD and USDJPY go in the same direction, I usually trade EURJPY when EURUSD and USDJPY go in the same direction.

Fair enough, I'm not sure what difference the direction of the two makes but if it works for you. Seems like a lot to be watching.

That's a good spread for gbpjpy, who is your broker and what type of account do you have?

It is InvestTechFX, they have 0.5 pips majors and 1.0 pip most other currencies - for any account bigger than $1,000.

Yes. Better, go with 5M and set Trailing SL or Jumping SL at 10...no worries, this system is very fexible to our trading style...good luck

Proof this indicator does sometimes repaint. Audusd gave a sell signal, indicated by the blue price printed on the chart but the indicator itself no longer shows the short signal. Oh dear, not good.

( by re-paint did you mean after the current bar has closed, the it re-painted the closed bar?)

Then why not back it up with other filters?

Making pips is fine, it's your eyesight I'm concerned for ;-)

I'm using other indicators as well thanks but it was stated at the start of the thread that it definitely doesn't repaint and it definitely does.
