But then, being right or wrong about the direction of the Forex market would be the least of your (our) problem

The EU going forward is going to be very interesting. I am form Europe and I know for a fact that most people in Europe hate each other. To even consider joining the entire EU into one super state is absolute insanity. This will surely result in some kind of war or conflict.

This is the same as joining all the crime families into one. Too many wise guys in one place is gonna cause problems sooner or later.

Who knows, maybe that is the whole point????

Then it is running i think already , just the explosion still not heard.weakest first with divide & rule & done each by each theory perhaps presently , who knows the weaks may ultimately get friends to resist together . time will tell .

In the long run I believe all currencies will simply cease to exist. No more paper money, no more dollar, euro, pound, yen, etc... just electronic "credits" that you can use worldwide to buy and sell stuff.

This is not science fiction, this type of digital currency already exists (even though it is still pegged to an actual currency, for now...), for example here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin

That also means no more Forex trading

And then I guess we will all go back to trading Futures (we still need Wheat, Corn, Soybeans and Sugar after all) and stocks

may be but necer think so or any possible . say credit or electronic all the same currency or equivalent. people will not send maize or rice etc through internet in real to exchange for other things or even in local market to buy something . the old days of physical exchange of materials have gone permanently. yes the value adjustment should be going on , notes denomination change ok only.

and forex trading , it will be there also , otherwise how money may grow, one to loose & other to gain , static value in real notes or substance will have no growth rather reduce slowly .

Let's say you want to buy a six-pack of Heineken. You go to the store and the vendor will simply transfer, let's say 6 "credits", from your account to his account, just like with a credit card. Currency will keep fading until the value of gold surpasses it, then currency will rise again. Equilibrium is the market. All the market tries to do is seek fair value then it gets pushed back into overvalued. This is constantly happening all the time. Right now U.S equities and currencies are overvalued, precious metals are not. The FED seem to think that artificially holding up the markets is a good thing, it is only delaying the inevitable and making the collapse that much worse. My advice, buy gold and silver and when the masses start running for it, buy equities instead. And by masses I mean anyone that isn't THAT much into investing going to look for gold and silver. That would be the queue to start investing into real estate, equities and putting all your money into it.

I am not very familiar with international laws but I suspect similar gold/silver restrictions exist in other countries as well.
Try to buy 1 kilo of gold in France and see what happens for example.

Actually what's happening, communities are starting to issue local currencies which tells me the trend is towards fragmentation rather than unification. And btw it's perfectly legal. I really don't believe the one size fits all theory. We've seen how well that worked for the euro. One can not have monetary union without political union. We still have some ways to go until we'll all be enslaved under one Dear Leader and that will not happen without a total planetary collapse first.

I would have to agree. I have been reading many articles recently that point out that trend. Local's are getting fed up with the dollar and the way things are going.
