Hi guy's

Just a couple of questions for you old timer's using this method. Just wondered how many pairs you guys monitor? and how many hour's a day you trade?

I am in the UK so was trying to decide the best hours.. maybe London open until NY open using H1 timeframe.. Any thoughts?

Wondering if m/any of you are adding to your winning positions at some point?

It would seem that longer time frame trading could be well suited to this.

IF anyone does this I would be curious to know at what intervals you place your add-on trades.

I am in the US - eastern time zone. I find the best time to trade and catch some really good moves are from about 2-3 hours after the London Open until 2 - 3 hours after the New York Open. So thats 5am until 11am eastern time zone in the US. Hope that helps. Look at your charts and see what you think based on the moves at those and other timeframes. Good trading popeyeuk.

ALl of you posting the "5 method" quit it....it was the lead up method to the TMS....You are confusing the newcomers. If they wish to use the ema as a safety net for conservative trading then by all means do it....HOWEVER it is not part of this method, nor are the stop losses used on the 5 method, and nore are the 3 candle entries...
So stop posting rules from an old method..its confusing to newcomers to the thread.
Fitnes....if you want to use the ema and it is succesful, use it....BigE says it is a conservative approach and that can be good when first learning...but it is not one of his rules. One thing to remember is he has a LOT of experience so he trusts his judgement on agggressive entries.

DOnt think I was being critical of you last night....as I said it could have always turned into a good trade (which it did....a beauty) but my tdi was flat so to me it wasnt showing a trade. The next candle was a different story but I was in bed by then congrats

Thanks, Dean. It has been presenting conflicting information.

I'm sure it was/is profitable for some old hands, but is not really familiar to those of us as recent arrivals.

Yes, I use scaling, but I don't want to violate the rules here by discussing what some might consider a technique that falls outside of the TMS method.

Some bed time reading for those confused by TMS and the 5 method, or just in need of sanity and clarity.

Go to attachments, hide images and look for the attachment on Aug 6th 2011 called "TradinMadeSimple" it is a pdf. I will not summarize for fear of offending the purists and getting it wrong!

This contains all of Big E's postings on TMS since page 1 post 1 and will clarify the Entry and Exit criteria. I was not the originator of the pdf, so thanks to the individual who spent a ton of effort pulling this all together. So far it has had over 900 hits.

I have adapted my trading style, initially starting with a subscription service and then rolling in Big E's 5 method and tweaking it accordingly for TMS, so my charts have a couple of things in addition as you will no doubt have observed.

My entries are a tad more conservative but still seem to be productive. I also follow the postings from dcginc - well worth reading and supplements the TMS beautifully.

Can someone here (or can get help from others) to make a tool to search signals of TDI for all timeframes of all currencies available across the board? It is also useful to search for pairs having TDI below 32/above 68. The tool will present the result in the form like a dashboard. Great thks and sorry for my English.

Hi Leona,

I just stmbled on to this thread yest morning. Read till page 52. Now jumped to the end and scrolling back.

I remember reading Stoc settings as 5,3,3. You have mentioned 8,3,3. Is that something which was modified by Big E somewhere down the line?

Next : Big E had mentioned that for it to be simple entry green/red xover should happen. Angles on clock codes at xover to be checked . Lastly check for uptrend /downtrend on candles and over bought/sold on stocs.

So are these rules still in place or have they been changed somewhere down the line ?

There is already a TMS Dashboard, just use the search function on the forums to get.

Hi Dean,

I am a newbie here. Infact have joined the forum yest and read till page 52 odd before I jumped here. Have seen you right from the beginning. So a question . Gold and Silver are in a nice uptrend on the 4 hrly. Gold did show a re entry by green xover about 6/7 bars back on 4hrly. Silver is just a close parallel line with green and red just scraping along .

My question : is there a way to make an entry at such times when the HA candles are all small but trending up and the green /red TDI are almost parallel to each other. Example also being DAX futures ( I made a cool $2.8K yesterday by just following the basic rules) where i exited whn i had so many pips on a demo a/c . The green line has turned parallel on Dax ( and S&P ) but has not hooked up. So should one continue to hold their position ? Also can I make an new entry on silver else arent we misisng out on pips?

I do only E/U , U/J ( flat as hell), XAU , XAG , DAX , S&P , Crude on demo. Trade it on my real account when i see a good move.

Hi and welcome.
I dont trade gold or silver but I believe this method works. And no....entry guidelines are clear...green crosses red at an acute angle, no small candles and not running parallel.

it was logical discussion,and yes u did said it could turn into agood trade,but i still do not understand y ur tdi angle was different thanmine.ur input always helpfull

I notice you are using the tdi and I am using the watchdog, which is just a different version. HOwever my version refreshes iteself every tick where as the tdi only refreshes when you manually refresh the chart or you click away to another chart and back on to that same chart and also at every new candle, so that probably explains the difference in the angle.
