There is no way yen can hold alone any bad overshoot in US numbers, Dax already opened hell's gate (> -5% losses) for 3rd time in the last 2 weeks before US opens.

i don't think current intervention is designed to reverse the trend but rather take the momentum out, what happened to all the talk of international coordinated intervention back when uj was around parity? that kinda just went quiet..

Agreed. As the metaphor goes... a big ship turning takes time. If after many months it doesn't go as planned, then you will see them try other things. Since they are not doing anything else right now, everything must be going as planned.

dont want to get into too many positions but looking at gold its very tempting for me on H1 to short it for a few

Ok, got stopped out at 1,439; re-entered same position size as previous long at 1,4383 after seeing 1,437 was not broken, SL at BE due to possibility of downside, another same position long will be added at 1,4426, if we get (and break above?) there.

Agree is just to stop an uncontrollable selloff.

G7 coordinated intervention was after the earthquake intervention and in March, stock markets and macro numbers were a lot better. Now, US, UK and EZ to lesser extend are desperate to devalue their currencies to artificially pump the economy while the poor Swiss and Japanese (they can't do shit) are screw with their over valued currencies and the risk and panic in stock markets.

Gold sitting a couple of ticks below 1799, USD/CHF a few ticks below last break out point 0.799x and Yen @ 76.5x a few tick above the abyss. Dax and CAC40 hammered and FTSE down and a few tick of joining the party down....

Not difficult to guess what they are waiting....key numbers in the US and lots of FED bla bla later. Any overshoot down will trigger panic at the current stock market levels, otherwise everything will be delayed one more time until NFP at least...

So long as we hold above (no close below on daily) the initial bo point and broken falling tl, then looking longer term i would have to say that my bias would be cautiously bullish, a decisive move above 4550 and that would become more strongly bullish...

a pull back under the falling tl then I would need to re-evaluate, but thems my levels, just playing scalps and short term swings until they resolve...
