Too many here just don't want to put the time and effort in and hope that with a bit of browsing on threads like this and kicking out a few trades here and there they can make it in this business.

Your trade call wasn't bad, your stops were just crap. Go get your spreadsheet going and know your strategy inside and out. Write down your trade rules and stick them to your wall right in front of you. Start each and everyday writing down what trade setups you are looking for that meet those rules.

Never ever break your rules.

I can definitely say this thread has completely reshaped the way I think about trading... 3 years this October. I feel like I have reached the top of the hill... and while it will certainly not be downhill from here... I see a lot of good things happening.

Looking to have my first year closed out in profits. If I keep up my current momentum... I'll have easily made back all my losses from the last 3 years.

PS, target 4223 hit, wasn't the smoothest ride... but i'll take them 55 pips. Closed 50%, 20 pip trailing stop initiated...

Targets met in the exact order. Missed the last one by about 10-11 pips (have to tighten it up there...). Money is not the issue here, beating the bastards at their own game is what puts a smile of my face.

Of course you would say that because you scoff at proven principals like a sample size of trades to prove a strategy, risk/reward and win/loss ratio.

You dont need an edge if you are on demo and just wait out 1000's of pips of drawdown for a bad trade to come back.


How's that long working out? Breakout to the longside didn't happen did it.

ok, I'll start doing this from September.

This month I finish reading some books and use
this trial and error approach to help me understand what to look for.

From September, I'll use a more scientific approach as you say

That should put you on course for a small live account around March/April next year, if you work on your strategy fulltime from September.
