Hold on there, whippersnapper! The lowest Sonic R. entry to highest price is only about 150 pips, not including subtracting the spread.

Stopping volume is good for signalling an exit from a good run in progress, a run that has taken PA far, far from the center of activity. Then with some later confirmation one might enter a counter move Sonic Scout. But two particular episodes of stopping volume here would only have signalled strong support at the bottom of the range, and the start of PA Wave leg 3 upwards. So, a SonicR trader would have had confidence in entering the long setup per SonicR rules, but would not have entered the setup prematurely, with PA still below the Dragon just because there was stopping volume at a low in the range. No large runs had occurred. PA just was not far enough from the Dragon/center of activity for these stopping volumes to be a signal for a Sonic Scout entry. The presence of stopping volume for PA so close to the Dragon only signals possible support for a SonicR setup in the opposite direction, not an immediate Scout entry. Or, are you suggesting otherwise?

The above summarizes how I thought your thinking on "stopping volume" went. But maybe I am mistaken. If so, please correct where the above is in error, for me and for others.

I didn't take that trade, I should have been but I was busy preparing upcoming family holiday..

If I ever take one, I will try best to show LIVe entry..(this is what sonic R stands out from the rest, we show live trades)

A near 200 pips,, is the price between when I alerted and the price we are now..

If one take my cue, waited and traded SC long.. He should be baggin about 130~150 pips..

Sonic, I am trying to understand you on this. I understand you alerted at a time when price was 200 pips MOL from the later high. What I don't understand is were you alerting Sonikers to watch for a SonicR setup long, or were you alerting Sonikers to make an immediate SonicS (Scout) entry long, based on the stopping volume?

Your #4 trade that hit initial SL automatically.
But only by a few pips, then stop vol hit, and reversed.

Your re-entry Long EJ looks much better.

In your E/U chart, you marked 2 areas of "Potential" Stop Vol on 9-Aug.
(a) 1st area, Around 10:45
(b) 2nd area, Around 21:00
My times may be different due to different brokers.

Area (a) would not be a Stop Vol as the price action after it does not confirm it.

Area (b), yes it is a Stop Vol for that session as immediate price after confirmed it with conviction.

Here is better to avoid (a), even though we may not know if (b) is coming or not.

TRMZXT, I would not have known what was the initial reaction.

Based on what I mentioned about the narrow price ranging with high vol and long wicks both side, that gave me an indication of a bias of accumulation before the news.

Even with that bias, I would not enter a Long yet, simply due to the possible news shake-out that can go violently up or down.

Normally this type of news can give a quick violent shake out, that it actually did for EJ and EU, then price moved up after the news.

However, recent observations also showed that once price moved up after such news move, it may go down fast again and re-visit this area, so unsure whether the accumulation was just a "short-term news event" or a "longer-term play for a few days".

If price do move down and re-visit this same narrow price range area before the FOMC news, then this future reaction of this narrow price range would give a better indication of a Short or Long the second time round and whether the accumulation was in fact a short-term or longer-term play.

Then follow the Sonic Dragon to enter.

Ok. Understood. And what I am trying to find out now is whether or not Sonic was suggesting Sonikers jump in a northbound Scout entry at the time he alerted of the stopping volume (b), or if he was alerting Sonikers to watch for a SonicR entry long.

You don't understand stopping solume or volume or following price action after stopping volume as well as Sonic do, tah.
