It is not. Problem still remains after restart.
It will probably be corrected when the Oanda starts their feed again.

Funny ,it almost spiked up to 2008 high.

I just logged into oanda to move my target up few hundred more pips and I did NOT see such a spike. Then I opened this thread and saw this screnshot :-)

When you see such spikes on weekends when they reboot some of their servers or temporarily shutdown a connection to one of their bank feeds then you can sometimes see prices (orders in the interbank market) that you would normally not see when all their other feeds are all online.

This "spike" to exactly 1.6000 means *someone* in the interbank market has a sell order there. Someone found it reasonable to place an order at exactly at that (and no other) price. (This translates to: I am not completely crazy, I am not the only one looking at that level, big banks have targets there too)

Whenever this happens I take it as an omen. I have seen it often enough a few trading hours after seeing such a glitch the price actually starting to approach and reach exactly that level.

well, at least they are open ... like I said here before managed to buy some euro's at 1.4315 early this morning, we are stilll 1.4320 offered. Not many people have access now, seems like money for free to me ...

usa rating downgrated, aiaiai, hyper stressy.
those having usa bonds will loose lot's of cash i assume (china/japan?..)

it's obvious you don't have a clue about financial markets. There will be tons of forced selling on monday: the USD has but one way to go on monday, that's down, the question is will it be 300, 400 pip or more ...

lots of funds will just HAVE to get out of US treasuries according to their rules. That money will flee US. So USD goes down. It's as simple as that, it doesn't take rocket science. I have played this game of downgrades before on weekends with oanda. Last time I got almost 100 pips out of it.

No they wont > USD will fall but treasuries won't necessarily see a sell off. So dont preach to nAVIN, who is vastly better respected here than yourself

I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to push it back down to 1.3850 before the massive rally to 1.6.

That is going off totally ignoring the fundamentals and just looking at the massive channel it's in. That might sound weird but as far as I can tell the forex market sort of has a mind of its own and doesn't always take news quite the way you expect...

Obviously someone might call me a peon, and I wouldn't bet that this will happen, just that it wouldn't surprise me. Either way I expect a rise of the EU and will be jumping on, retrace or not.

EDIT: also a massive guess, the turnaround will be on tuesday

I meant to write treasury bonds. Short term paper most likely will go up.
By monday evening I will be out of my position of short USD and go back to my normal daytrading (not sure if I will do that on monday, it might get a bit too volatile). Where the USD will be in a month is the least of my concerns, but for the next few days things are clear imho.
