This could be the power of TMS, but no one is reporting a 500+ pips trade yet, which I believe is possible with a 4 hour signal such as TMS
I've been trading (demo and live) with the TDI since May. The indicator is great as far as entries, but not as good when it comes to exits, especially if you're looking to avoid minor moves in the opposite direction. One way to handle this is to exit and to reenter, as Big E has suggested. I've tried a number of indicators, but won't offer any additional suggestions here. This would violate Big E's wishes. However, if you're interested in longer trades using the 4hr TF and in maintaining the spirit of TMS, I would take a look at the Daily TDI for EXITS ONLY. Each time the 4hr TDI offers a signal that would end your trade, check the Daily TDI for agreement. If you look at a few old 4hr charts, find your 4hr TDI entry signal, mark the beginning and the end of the overall swing (ignoring the 4hr TDI exit signals), then switch to the Daily TF, you'll generally find the TDI exit signal very close to where you've marked the end of the 4hr swing.

Yeah me either. I think you have to get better at taking trades that have less angle or raise the TDI box itself and then the angle gets better. I dont know though how much because you can almost create a vertical line by doing this and this may distort the accuracy of the reading. THanks anyway for your thoughts.

Firstly, great trading! I was just wondering what your profit taking criteria is. Are you setting a fixed TP when you take the trade, or are you letting profits run and either (a) manually closing or (b) using a trailing stop.

US stock market down 500 points today, weakness in Euro and yen. Dollar should be strong these currencies.

Nice work Eelfranz, how did you go with your D1 stratergy, i had a few good D1 trades going but i got out after they stalled at about 150 pips.

im moving to full lots next week with this system, thanks for sharing it has really improved my trading

Unlucky or maybe lucky, who knows, taken out at a TP of 300 set overnight as this cross known to spike. Entry was a sneaky 1 hour at 1.26981, then whent to 4 hour chart.

*** but to play the game fair, please post the entry, and exit when complete, show some prices, not just a vertical line on chart, otherwise we will have all sorts of claims in here.

Take the trade, show, if you don't know how to post a chart, closed trade included, just ask, good luck and hope you can beat this!!

Newcomer here, I'd like to express thanks to BigE for presenting this strategy and for others for their valuable input on this thread.

I have traded with this strategy over the past couple of weeks (1H TF) with some success, entry signals are pretty clear however I have been exiting positions on a more discretionary basis, rather than waiting for a signal from TDI. This tends to mean I'm watching the charts and micro-managing the trade through its lifetime, something I hope to get away from. To allieviate some of this I will probably give the longer TFs a go.

Correct me if I'm wrong but having read through this thread it seems that a lot of posters are also using such discretionary methods for exits. I wonder are there people using TDI as a sole (or at least primary) exit signal? If so, from your experience does this lead to giving pips back, especially on the longer TFs?

Was just adding some clarity to Callisto's theory. I don't trade that theory not on a 4 hr at least. For the charts posted it was the assumption trades entered once a FULL cross happens above 68 or below 32. The trade was then in theory held til the next opposite signal. Granted one should put a stop loss on such a trade or have strict exit rules. Essentially it would appear the trader wanted to make TMS even less stress free by only using 2 entry criteria - the overbot and oversold zones.

Thanks for your queries, however, i am a complete beginner in forex, and this method (TMS), so i won't advise you. Except to say for me, i trade with the trend, take into account support and resistance levels, and i study older charts along with studying general candlestick's/price action theory. (babypips.com is a great free resource for the basics) There is a lot of great info/trading tips on this thread too, so i read as much as i can here, especially page 1.

One of our generous traders has put together a compilation of Big E's strategies which you'll find at post # 4723.

No problem - thanks for the response - it supported a lot of the testing that I have been conducting and especially the issues with pullbacks etc.

I have started using a 50 pip TP and 25 pip SL on the 1H charts. Here is my first trade using that strategy. (USDCHF 1H)

Just entered long 15M chart AUS/USD. Could be foolish, as i understand economic news expected today, but i'm thinking it's got to go north really soon. Might have entered too early, so we'll see.
