4078 4 hr support (lines up with the daily 200 ema. We get thru that and 3954 is the next target.

yes, back on trading but only every here and then. Have to do some serious works first..... :-(
The p-value is the look-back timeframe. I use 32, so it looks back the last 32 periods to determine a new high/low. On that highs/lows the new octave-line calculation is based.
The best use of the p-value is (regarding to Murrey), to look, which p-value covers best the latest swing high to low.
I did that in the past and constantly switched the p-value between 16, 32 and 64, but found, that 32 works best most of the time. So I keep it...

52/63 is my final offer...
If ya look at the last 2 TK sessions, you can see where the chino shorts bottomed, and the break out line, is exactly where chino parked at their last plays...they already have the zone below this covered, but if I am correct, we should still see chino bring back price to their previous lows...
I ain't saying that will happen this session or even this week, but I do believe we will see it sooner then later...
Re: that line we were chatting about yesterday...When posed the question, do we count chino roll at the bell, or include the 1m of that bell time...I think we have that answer...I marked that area on the chart in pink, so we could see exactly where price had it's reaction...dropped them 28 pips to buy em back up and cover before they continued the short journey...pretty crafty if ya ask me...

It seems to be the area on the chart, taking sessions out of play, that needs to be back filled...the break out line if you will...

"repainting" is the nature of Murrey Math. If you would not see a movement in the octave lines the math respective the indi would be broken...
a) the price moves below or above the -2/8 or +2/8 line for a certain amount of time ---> you have a new high/low, so the octave is calculated new
b) the octave is calculated new, because there is a new high/low in the specified period "p"
p-value which works best most of the time is 32
values for p are normally 16, 32 or 64
64 works good for comodities, stocks or generally on high TF's like daily...

I completely understand the math...and have been comparing p-values, too. So far, I would concur with your conclusion that 32 works best in forex; certainly the pairs I watch most.
What I don't understand, however, is...why do you have to change TF's to get the indi to "re-plot" (not so much "re-paint" as I was saying before) the current lines? It should be completely achievable...maybe at a litlle "processing power" hit, but I'm not concerned about that. I'd also love to be able to plot H4 lines on a M15 and H1 chart...for example.
Can you point me in the direction of a "source" version of an MML indicator that I could play around with? I'll share the results with anyone interested, and park it in "killers" graveyard...where is that boy?
I'm sure I can track one down, but if you could narrow my search, it will be time saved for other things.

Heheh – October 19, 1987 -- 172.79 . Granted it was still 5 ½ years before a volatility index would first appear. The CBOE, however, was able to go back and reverse engineer the volatility data for 1987, using the OEX options methodology.
Now THAT would be one HELLUVA trade.
