anyone know why the dollar is still relatively low now that there is a deal struck in Washington?

The deal doesn't change the fact that the US economy sucks. It nearly stalled in the first half of this year and doesn't show any signs of picking up.

Basically the USD is very weak....even with good news,
the USDJPY just spike up alittle then retrace back down...
overall USDJPY is still weak....more downside expected....

Yep. Which is exactly why I said the BoJ will not want to be active until they have a reasonable chance of success. Selling Yen here when there is a ton of unrelated, (but massively affective), stuff going on elsewhere would be nothing more than a punt. And the Japanese know this.

There is a nice long in the offing, but not yet I think.

what is holding the pair down? compromise for debt has been reached and the vote on monday is just customary.. USD is pretty much out of the woods now..

there is not much downside, 76.50 is a very strong support (unless there is another powerful quake). immeidate upside is 80.. then 85?

I don't think the US digging itself even further into a hole is helping. Whatever the outcome from the weekend, short term it will hurt the USD further.

The price can go just as far down as it can up. We are coming down to big support with massive stops below!

ook so usdchf has already closed the gap like its customary..but jpy still 40 odd pips off..i think we will have a reaction here at the daily low (77,2 was an important level last week too), stops just below

Its not just UJ... but also EJ also went up...

76.60 is good bottom which held ... UJ has good bottom now, infact a double bottom...

Bottom forming is a process.... i am bullish on UJ now
