DislikedConchy, austerity sounds great, but in the end it is only the poor that gets screwed. The Rich will always protect themselves such that the brunt of it is borne by the middle/low/no income families.
If the policies are being implemented by government and lobbied for by the rich, why is it when the shit hits the ceiling, is it that the poor man is one who gets caught.

Disliked@ Chonchy, I hear you on taking the long road view and intellectually it makes sense that it should be dealt with sooner than later. Intellectually it makes sense.
But i would disagree, realistically the politicos will not take a decision that will affect their ability to pull the votes. The fact that the Republicans cannot even agree among themselves highlights this, heck, they read the same news as we do, they know how it will go if they choose a hardline approach.
I think in the end the Dems are gonna come of this smelling better...tho...Ignored
