Dean,
Am I right that with your EJ trade your SL is ~20 pips and TP is only 10?

R:R an issue?
Ignored
RR is the least of your worries. You trade M5 you are a scalper at heart. And to be a scalper means you need to have balls and be somewhat mental. The mental issue is why i do it. I like action. H1 and above is for grandpa. You take what they give you. If price gives you 2 pips take it and wait because the next trade is right around the corner. I trade the M5 and try and follow systems like this. I don't do it like P Dean does but I keep my eyes open to improve my strategy by hanging around threads like this.

Point is R:R is a misconception imo. I roll with a 13 pip stop loss. Price does 2 things---Either with you or against you. My first goal is always 5 pips. If price is acting like an ass then I will take what its offering rather it be 1 pip or 50. I use Price action so I see areas on my chart where if it crosses certain zones before it reaches my stop loss then I close it. I know I am done. When I enter a trade I know my targets. First is 5 pips if it wants to give it to me. Next is other areas such as pivots or the Murrey math i use. Dont worry about R;R. If you have 100 trades and Your goal is 5 pips and thats your average amount won per trade. You win 80 times. Thats 400 pips. Your stop loss is 10 pips. You lost 20 so thats 200 pips. You are still up 200 pips. Even if you went with a 15 pip stop loss you are still up 100 pips. Most good scalpers are easily at 80% win rate. Most are slightly higher. Also when you scalp the amount per trade is higher than a guy with a 100 pip stop loss.

Example for you. Say you have a 1k account. Your stop loss is 10 pips and you want to trade 2% of your account. Well 1000 x 2%= 20 dollars. 20 dollars divided by 10 pip stop loss equals 2. So you trade 2 lots. Without going any further thats about 2 dollars a pip on the EU. So if you cleared 200 pips in a month you made 400 dollars. If you are compounding each trade its even more. So dont worry as much about R'R. look at your chart and find target areas. Start scaling out. You up 5 pips move your stop to breakeven. You may miss some big moves but so what. you will catch that big mother soon enough. Just a suggestion if you are worried about R:R.

If I am wrong P Dean then I will delete this post.

now... keep looking and be aware of all pairs..

EU.. is getting ready for a possible MOM setup
AU.. is getting ready for a possible Mid mom setup or MOM..

be a constant predator.. lol

being present of most if not all opportunities is KEY..

don't worry.. the concept is sound.. all you gotta do is to be there where the opportunities arrive..
take it and trade manage the hell out of it.. its a battle.

haha had to make my point...lol

Thanks for the comment. I responded because i use to lose sleep over Risk Reward. Throw that RR crap out your head and make some frickin pips. Scalping is stressful enough. All you got to do is take what they give you. Thats all you have to remember and you will keep moving forward.

update on my trades..

i am still on both trades...
EJ is playing around upper band and it could hit my sl... my game plan is to bail out of it if it once again makes strike towards my entry or lower band.. if it makes the slightest hesitation i will bail for the minimum loss..

EU.. pretty mush the same..

my take on the market is that at moment is going to some side way move so we might be able to skin it with Neutral setup stuff..
remains to be seen..

EJ trade spanked me for -25...

now..
some daily weekly management talk..

this is the last day of the week.. and i am well ahead overall for over +300 pips profit.. so i can afford to let my hard sl to be tested for the reward.. but let's say if i was up for the week only about 100 or less.. i would have taken the small loss on the small resume that I made note earlier..

this is big part of trading... making choices based on your own situation on weekly monthly yearly portfolio.

EU trade still alive..

now for you newcomers...
i recommend to work your way up with being rather to cut your losses short and accept the losses unless your way ahead on the market pips wise and experience wise.

Is there any reason or objection to the use of HA or Synergy candles with this system?

there is no such thing as crap market.. its just evil.. but it should be a walk in the park for a scalper... many ways to skin the cat.. just requires some patience while hunting. if it turn into range Neutral band.. that's like christmass and a few ping pong we'll finish the week on high note.. if not, still ok, bcz you know you were PRESENT to squeeze the hell out of it if it would had let lose.

mental toughness... physical toughness is more than half the battle i say.

that's just my humble opinion above as a natural positive fella.

Handy,
these are averaging bars. You know eelfranz use this in Trading made simple. But we are playing on 5 min tf which is very fast tf. HA bars are good for 1hour tf and higher.

some filter talk..
check out the EJ chart below.. where i marked there was a signal.. but i want you to watch two things...
1) the upper band position
2) the width of the band..
upper band is signalling mild strike to be begin maybe.. and width of over 35 pips shows chop monster is at hand...
so in such case.. easily you will take your time for better opportunity and reject this signal and wait for it to show its true color to whether is looking to continue striking or to slow down create a DT so then you can take a shot for short trade on a more settled PA and angel less band.

Dean,
i checked historical data according to your rules. Great approach you did. I am just little worried about middle line (slight risky trades for me).
Anyway thank you for detail description! :-)

Kindly Regards

EU update..

i just closed it for -3.. pretty much a breakeven play..
i gave it enough time and it just did not work out..

so most of the times you will see me end up with results such as this when thing go wrong i lose the minimum after giving it the reasonable time.. and sure other times occasionally like EJ i get spanked.

No doubt and agree. I battled the hell out of the trade I was in. Made a critical mistake I overlooked and managed to squeak out a few pips. Still need a few more for my quota. I am 9 short so likely gonna look but will be picky.

Good thing when the market is sideways is it really test your skills. I won market haha. i won.And yes its evil and patience is key. I literally hit myself in the head once I made the error...lol.
