i think you are all failing to get the point. everybody and their brother was anti usd when that post was made (pending crises).. the vote and the debt crises has done just the opposite. if you recall everyone was long. they had lunar flights booked. if the u.s. gets a cold.. the world gets pneumonia.

im just strictly speaking of credit market. if US debt gets downgraded or defaults, people dont wanna hold bonds so they sell them and their interest rates go up. Demand for usd increases as a result. So any type of negative credit agenda for the US will ultimately be dollar positive.

I would imagine the retail side of this market is all long eur and short usd, its the most logical conclusion to make and therefore should prove to be the exact opposite of what the market will do.

it will also take demand off commodities. the cost of borrowing goes up.
