Is using neural networks on your mind for this? This problem looks like the right problem for neural nets IMHO.

In the case you want to explore using neural nets you might want to write a DLL not in C++ but an easier language. Pascal.

It's not really that hard to devise a logic behind this. What the program does is simply checking a few bars behind and adding checkmarks to various properties for each bar. Is it small enough (as a percentage of the ATR) ? Does it close above or below the MA ? Does it have a wick crossing the MA ? Is the slope of the MA in the correct direction ? Is the slope increasing from one bar to the next ? Do the bars form higher highs/lower lows ? Etc. Then it's just a matter of setting a limit for the percentage of bars that should be having each property, and determining what values are good. Eg, if you want to find what defines a "small slope" for each MA, you can either do some tests and measure what you think is a good slope and then hardcode it in the program, or perhaps find a formula for calculating the slope values for any MA. Basically the slope is nothing more than a percentage movement. For example, I have noticed that as a general rule when the timeframe increases by 4, the average bar increases by 2. Ie, you may expect that going from 15M to 60M you will having bars twice as large on average.

Pivot levels are different at each broker’s time zone.

I’ve got the following pivot levels at 3 different brokers:
It doesn’t matter if I set “Use_Sunday_Data” to true or false; I get the same results at all three brokers.

I give the difference from the Oanda values (EST) in pips in the parentheses.

These results are from the first hour of the London session.


Oanda – EST server time
Daily pivot: 1.44295
Weekly pivot: 1.42766
Monthly pivot: 1.44202


Alpari UK – GMT+1 = CET server time
Daily pivot: 1.43692 (-60.3)
Weekly pivot: 1.42676 (-9)
Monthly pivot: 1.44202 (0)


InterBank FX – GMT-1 (or GMT without DST?) server time
Daily pivot: 1.43674 (-62.1)
Weekly pivot: 1.42720 (-4.6)
Monthly pivot: 1.44139 (-6.3)



What do you think about this?
Does it matter?
How? If one could set the session time (day start) for another pivot indicator, which setting should be used?

A lot of traders check actionforex.com to check their pivots and they are worked out on close of day being 10pm EST (fxpro server time or IBFX 21:00.

What do you guys think about this possible 35/50 touch in GU??

Pros:
35 is steep
Confluence with DR3
35/50 converging in H1

Cons:
2nd touch of 35
50 ma is slightly diverging

What would you say?

It would have been valid for at least 20 pips, in spite of some 15m candle hesitation but with a max. drawdown of 5 pips....

-It broke the 15 bar rule

You're right, sometimes I feel I lose opportunities by trading by the rules, but in the long term doiing it will save a lot of money also, kind of a psychologic issue I've to deal with, there's also the fact that most of good setups occur during London, at which time I'm sleeping.

Haydel, would you mind taking a look at my daily pivots? They seem to be at totally different levels than yours and Kostas. I'm set to begin the day at GMT. How is yours set?

Here's a chart of EU M15 as an example. I've collapsed it to show all levels S3-R3. Thanks.

I use AutoPivotIndicator_ver5. I use it with default settings.

Here is my EURUSD M15 chart as yours. Is clear that Pivots are different.
