You can't compare Ireland with Greece, for starters the Irish debt is based on bank bonds instead of Government, if Ireland would even consider defaulting their economy would take a nose dive that would take 50 years to recover from, it would put their biggest 3 banks out of business overnight.

Ireland is actually growing this year and will get themselves out of the mess, unlike Greece.

Fundy wise... the US debt ceiling issue could easily be solved before the end of this month so im gona go biased to the dollar now that i see the reaction of default being mentioned...
EURUSD dumped whatever gains its made early asia and london once this came out...

Technically EURUSD is playing around in today's S1 @ 1.4147 now that level is exactly where EURUSD is testing to break up and down right now... need to see hour close on this one...

look at the PA [price action]

1. what does PA doing ??
2. look how many pips EUR have moved today [high-low]
3. look what is the average daily movement..
4. open your 4h chart
5. draw a trendline.. can you see where we are now ??
then .. then ask yourself:
6. Am i happy with those pips i've made ?

Lots of rumors on the technicalities coming out now. They found some technicality in the Greece Default that "pleased" the ECB.....short term guarantee of Greek bonds so the ECB can keep accepting defaulted Greek bonds as collateral in money market operations....

Lots of noise, rumors and slips as expected .....Nothing worse than politicians in the markets.....
