Fridays price 1.4254 close. Opened today at 1.4200s area. if your platform has a long red candle then it deosn't show a clear gap?

It depends where you are in the world. My broker wont open for another 20 minutes. Brokers around the world will compensate for price movement within the first hour of opening. This is often seen by some as a price gap compared to Fridays closing price and others as no gap depending on when the broker opens on Sunday.

Usually gaps are filled and then price continues on its merry way again, but not always. If price is in a strong trend sometimes the gap isn't filled and it just keeps going in the trend direction.

A gap like that is usually very significant and I am going to take it as very bearish-

Every week I find the gap discussion mildly entertaining. Same goes for the numerous queries to get a quote prior to their broker open. Both occur with the same certainty as the sun rises and sets each day.
