Hello Fellow Sonikers!


I have been on an extended break from trading forums, but the lonliness gets to me sometimes.

I am still trading, though I am 100% focused on trend following bigger swings found on the daily chart. I use a system I call the Sonic Pyramid, and here is what my chart of the EU looks like ...

I use the Sonic Dragon and the waves to determine the long term trend, and then I use a 2 Period rate of change...

Again, your profit taking for EU & EJ yesterday proven wise, as today's NFP moved opposite.

I need to use this RgH and RgL, will see how to load just this and analyse its use for the past few weeks.

Regarding your wave3 in EU: if I understand you correctly, your count must be wrong, the wave marked as B on my pic went lower than the origin of waveA as I expected -> the 3rd wave must be C of an expanded flat. In an impulse, wave2 never goes below the origin of wave1.

In the new release, condition #2 for RgH/RgL lines is changed. Once PA exceeds range, if HOD is before LOD, then RgH is HOD and RgL is the computed range below. If LOD is before HOD, then RgL is LOD and RgH is the computed range above. Once PA exceeds range and these new locations for RgH/RgL are computed, they are fixed for the day, no matter what PA does afterwards. This may be more simple and easier for most to understand, than currently with the lines bouncing up and down sometimes.

Comments are welcome....still time to release either coding.

Here is my take on the PA today.

The BBs are not nice people. They use strategies to steal our money. Today, before NFP the price fell....they loaded shorts at top, torpedoed the price and closed them. That is where the fun began. They loaded up long. At NFP, they pumped the shit out of it, quickly! Everybody started thinking !LONG!, and buying. That is how the BBs were able to dump their longs and load up shorts again. Then what? Right, with a load of shorts, they torpedoed the price......again!

Since the BBs had the price low just before the NFP, everbody was more than willing to think LONG. I think that played a big role in their strategy today. The BBs made profits on two bear runs, while everybody else focused on the single bull pump run.

My brain ain't thinking much now after NFP shake down.

Is "HOD" mean "High Of Day"?
Is "LOD" mean "Low Of Day" or "London Open Day" ?

I did not like it once price move to new high for the day, and RgH became that same new high, as that does not show me how relevant RgH's original figure really works out well or badly.

My preference for my own testing if I can code it:
- just have RgH and RgL as an independent indicator.
- have RgH and RgL to remain same without moving throughout the day.
- have RgH and RgL for past x-amount of days so that I can check how RgH and RgL perform relative to the real high and low for those days.
- have a future 2-days RgH and RgL if possible. This is call greedy wanting 2-day profit instead of 1-day profit.
- have a weekly RgH and RgL.

Excuse me if you already have all these functions, I really have not use the indicator recently, mainly due to my MT4 just don't have enough juice.

yes, LOD = low of day. I don't think it makes sense to have static RgH/RgL lines. They would have to be pegged to some static price. And what price would you arbitrarily pick?

Look, the range lines were never intended as choices for TPs. They are only intended to provide a real-time display of the potential H/L prices for the day, based on existing PA and the average range calculation. And the real-time display of the potential H/L prices has only been intended to provide a perspective on what S&R historic levels might best be selected as TPs......those not extremely exceeding the RgH/RgL lines.

The RgH/RgL lines can provide a useful perspective most of the time. As we have seen today, however, when the BBs go to work to steal our money, they make a mockery of any and all "technicals".

You are starting to realise the certain degree of fallacy on technical analysis,,

Static for today, as it was based on yesterday's calculation, whatever that calculation method may be.

That is OK, I am not asking you to change it, is just more for my own testing, when I have time to look at it, I will see how to utilise and analyse it.

Added Note: Even though BB do their own stuff and move it to an extreme for NFP, and that extreme is STILL at a specific Demand/Supply zone that you may guestimate where it may bounce.
This is where eyes on longer timeframe charts are better than indicator. And I did not get the correct direction.

Well, the new code does not change condition#1. Until PA exceeds the average range, the lines will move as new highs and lows are created. This gives the ongoing perspective of what else can happen. But at the instant a new high/low is created that exceeds the average range, the lines lock in place for the rest of the day, showing the intial break of the range, which might or might not be a head fake.

one thing i don't understand is: why yesterday ADP Non Farm employment is so different compare to toda's Non farm employment. did anyone have research the inconsistance between those two??

Concensus is that ADP is a good leading indicator for NFP. However, the BBs do not have to move price according to anything but their own will. This can leave people that are trying to "logic the price move" at an extreme disadvantage.....sheep for the shearing.

The BBs credo....

"Boys, decide which way you want to move the price. Then wait for the confirming news. If the news does not look like it will be confirming, then be ready with your own spin on it, one that makes the news confirming. And, if you cannot do even that, then.....what the hell, just bang the price your way anyway!"

"And boys, remember.....we are out to steal money from others. That is what it is all about, ......not how we look compared to the frigg'in news!"

I was not around today - due to the most annoying thing in human life called work

But for what itīs worth I have tried to explain the whole move of the EU today so that newer traders might benefit and start to see things differently. BTW I am not open for questions of what tp-supply etc. means Enjoy.
