The only thing the EA uses to close a trade is the TDI crossing in the reverse direction, going flat or going negative. Try setting these all to false and see if this stops it from closing a trade.

I have not experienced this, but have only used the reverse cross so far. It could be because TDI recalculates on each tic it is triggering one of these.

Let me know your results and I may have to rethink the TDI close signal, maybe its jumping around. I will see if I can add some code to display what it is doing and see if it is changing.
I use TDICloseOnNeg only. In v5, there were a lot of these cases. So far none for v6 after the first day.

Just did some checking and the code is OK but when I call the TDI indicator for the present TDI value it varies and it also does not agree with the reading I get from the TDI indicator being displayed below the chart. The previous TDI is correct and agrees with the indicator. I will take a look at the TDI indicator code and see whats different.

Anyone have any suggestions on calling a different TDI indicator that would give us a more stable number?

So for now to stop this closure of trades by the TDI, don't use it to close trades.

For v6, I originally set ZoneMultiplier to 50 and found it too restrictive. Trades started to happen after I set it to 0.
Today is a good first day for v6, here is the summary:

No. of pairs: 20
total trades : 7
profitable trades: 5
net gain: +92 pips

settings:
TP & SL = 0
ATR multiplier = 50
Fractal SL= on
TDICloseOnNeg = true
slope = 4
Usecountertrend = true
tradeonce = true
trade 24 hours

I will work on the ZoneMultiplyer problem, thats a known problem, setting it to "0" uses the TMA Middle line like in the previous version, above for Sells and below for Buys.

Don't use the TDI to close trades at this point until I can determine a way to get a stable number back from the call to the TDI indicator that agrees with the indicator below the chart, set these three TDI selections to false.

Just wondering what is the ATR Multiplier, I cannot find that setting anywhere. I see the TPmultiplier, the SLmultiplier, and the Zone Multiplier, but that's it.

They are the same. The TPmultiplier is based on ATR. Sorry for the confusion.

If the previous TDI bar gives a stable number, you could use that, but then you may want to drop down a TF or two to avoid very late signals.

It is very strange.

As you have backtest for about 2 months on EURUSD (1.4.11 - 1.6.11) you get 1 trade. I think that something is wrong...

sorry, can't understand what you are referring to ? Do you mean you have done a backtest and there was only 1 trade ? I don't know about backtest since I am now doing demo trading or you can call it forward test.

The number of trades does come down with v6 when compare with v5, probably because of the 3 bar reversal requirement.

Yes, I did a backtest. This EA is one pair expert, so it is possible to have backtests. Am I wrong.

So why the EA have zero trades...?

You got only 1 trade in back test, I believe you have set true to TradeOnce.
But if you set TradeOnce to false, I am quite sure the back test results would not be good.
If it can be coded it in such a way that it will re-set itself on the next bar after the current trade is closed, then you can do a proper back test with TradeOnce = true. Besides, it will save a lot of manual re-setting during live running.

Hello Everyone,

I have the same settings as above. 29 pairs open since last night 9:00 p.m est. Seven trades have been taken, five closed for winners. Two are still open. One trade that is still open was taken twice, looks like it opened after taking profit on first trade. Must be a bug. So far, everything else is looking good. Thanks for working on this Seller9.

Hi KW,

I agree with you that the "response" of the EA to fast changes is depends on SL, ONLY, since the TDI changes if slow.

I suggest that SELLERS will use the following indicator for determine a change of the trend for an exit (not for openning a tarde). Thank you again SELLERS for your efforts here.

How close were the trades to one another? The EA checks with the Broker to see if a trade that has been placed is open and if it doesn't get confirmation of the trade it will try and open it again. It waits a random amount of time after placing the trade to make this check.

I have fixed the bug in the "ZoneMultiplyer" setting so you can now use it as explained in a previous post.
