I have been looking at this system since 3-4 weeks ago, demoing 2 weeks ago and just this weekend I have been using the simulator.

I must say that the simulator has helped me a lot more than demo and I can't believe I am actually enjoying it.... (I've been strictly system trading for about 5+ years now but this is the first time I really enjoy the actual research and practice, it doesn't feel like grunt work, it's like a video game, I think it will wear off as I get good in it) The only issue with the sim is during weekends I cant play properly due to the widened spread. Small price to pay for something so good btw.

If you want to change the spread during weekend to a relatively normal fixed value, there is a solution below. You can try the SpreadGenerator_v1.1.mq4 script. http://forum.mql4.com/18459 :

I have a problem with the tester that I'm hoping someone knows how to fix.
When I run a backtest the symbol properties tab appears to get populated with the current spread data (at the time the test starts). The problem is, if I test on the weekend when the market is closed, then the spread is really high since that's what the market closed at. Right now it's showing GBPUSD spread is 13 pips. During regular trading that number would be around 4 pips.

Given the importance of the spread between the moving averages in Choros, it would be great to have an indicator that tracks the spread between say the 35 sma and the 50 ema. Even better, it might be done on multiple time scales.

I have looked around on other threads, and have been unable to find anything like this.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Very strange action today due to 4th of July holiday.
I was able to get a quick 21p from GU.
The entry was not a 2-bar retrace but I saw a nice rejection (bounce) from the M15 10 on both M15 and M5 timeframes and I took it (I exited just before news). If I can scalp another 9-10p I will finish early today. I don't want to stay for US session which may get crazy with such a thin market.

"Learning by Imitation in Humans

Humans are genetically predisposed to learn from each other through imitation. This is especially true and even inevitable with babies and small children. In fact, the human brain as well as the brain of primates and birds contains mirror neurons that fire when an animal observes the actions of another animal, especially another animal of the same species.
Neuroscientists speculate that these mirror neurons are important for understanding the actions of other people, and for learning new skills by imitation.
Learning by imitation helps the individual human quickly learn basic skills such as tying their shoe to survival skills such as learning how and what to eat. Furthermore, learning by imitation allows humans to bequeath traditions of culture, music, art, and sport from one generation to another.
Many behavioral scientists have come to see learning by imitation as an important expression of intelligence."

Hi,

In the original dance clay talks about moving the trailing stop to the bottom of the last candle. Im using visual order editor, and when i try to do this it returns to the original stop loss set. Is there a way to change this or a different trailing stop ea?

This one displays the difference of the price from the MA in pips (you may find useful in touch trades). Maybe you can post it in the "Tech section" and request the help of a coder to make it display the difference between two MAs (unless a good soul from our thread knows how to do this.....)

Kostas

As usual, thanks so much. I have seen this sort of indicator on FF. As one person pointed out MACD is the difference between two moving averages, but unfortunately you can't change the type of average (sma vs. ema).

Life would be so much simpler if we would focus on our coding abilities rather than trading!

thanks

Kostas,

I added the 35-50MA difference to the indicator, shown as points, so if the broker's data is 4 digits, it would show the pips difference, but would show 10X pips if it's 5 digits.

Please let me know if you need any change.

2 scenarios here.
the most probable one is that you have the visual order editor in another window as well, you move it in one and the other one changes it back.

the other is that you try to move your stop too close to the price and your broker doesnt allow this, but this wouldnt do as you describe above.

Your vouch is very much appreciated Kostas. I am not good at all at dance, and humbled by your vouch. Wish I have the skills and acumen as you do. I know it take times, so I hope to learn as much from you as I possibly can.

I am not seasoned programmer, but I wish my trading match my coding. If you need anything to be done on the programming side, please don't hesitate to give me a yell.

Thanks so much for sharing however just to point out. I am guessing that you took the trade based on the touch of the 10EMA M15. However the during the touch of the 10EMA the angle don't seem steep enough for a 10EMA touch trade PLUS it broke the 2 bar rule based on the dance rules..... However you may have taken it as some S and R entry, because a few bars back, there were some wicks that were touching at the level you entered.

PS: I just got started practicing the dance a month + ago this is just my humble opinion and it is open to corrections and approval.
