danyjoe, i don't know ! i am careful & would wait for the tdi to be be on the other side of the 50 - but that's just me & Eelfranz tells us not to overthink things which i probably am doing ??

Hmmm. I've been looking at USDCAD for the past couple of days. I think 0.9600 is a support level on the daily but the TDI cross wasn't strong enough for me to enter plus the timing. I don't like trading so close to the markets closing and don't let my trades run through the weekend.

If I see a good cross on Moday I'll definately be in!

i have found that the tdi repaints itself has anyone esle found this. i only watch e/u

i.e
1. 28/6/11 12.00 gmt in real time green has crossed over red clearly to go short but as the trade move on and heads long the tdi repaints to touching green touching red but not crossing over

2. 30/6/11 16.00 gmt again in real time cross over clear for a long as the trade moves on market tends to range the cross over is gone

has anyone esle come across this

I personally use a big bar closing above the 5MA as an additional trigger requirement for long trades.

I think this is because you are not waiting for the candle to close, once it has closed and the TDI has crossed properly then i trade. That's how i see it working, hope this helps

I do sometimes hold a position over the weekend but i do like to close on Friday count my pips, have a good weekend and start again on Monday to see what i can take from the market once again.

Guys, I see this thread is still going strong which I can only assume is because the TDI works? Does it?

Firstly please excuse me as I have not read all the thread yet! My concern is that you guys are all relying on a single indicator? A custom indicator that at any moment may stop functioning, for example due to MT4 code changes.

I woke up this morning to have the 4 trades I put on last night flat. I got a few pips out of each one, literally a few only and closed them. I think I am done for the week. Great learning and got some pips in my pocket.

Thanks for all the info and learning. Have a good weekend long weekend. Study this weekend and back at it next week after the Holiday. Enjoy.

The 4 trades from last night were:
EU Short for +3 pips
AU Short for +2 pips
UJ Long for +10 pips
NU Short for +8 pips

Earlier this week I had a GJ short for +100
Had a couple of other positives and a couple negatives.

Overall for the week I was positive by about +120 pips. No complaints for first week trying the system. Plenty of sleep as well.

Hi andys0506,

I understand the concern because when i discovered this system works well for me i thought the same thing, "Oh no what if something happens and i can not trade with this indicator anymore????"
But after looking at the indicator in an editor to see what makes it tick, i now know we will not have any problems in the future, it is a pretty straight forward script based partly on existing indicators.
So as long as Metatrader exists we can trade it no matter what version as the coding language is not about to change.
And to be honest if it did we could adapt any of the trading platform that allow customer indicators to do the same job simply by using the code from the original TDI.

A good indication of reversal, pullback or bounce is a candle with a large body and wicks on both ends? A doji looking candle as described in many HA education threads? So how will you trade that signal?

Also, can you clarify what is meant by noticing the values of the high/close and low/close being very close? Large body with small wick in the proper direction? Or large body and large wick?

Thanks for the clarification. I have been studying the HA candles from the internet and am trying to solidify the info in my mind.

EURUSD SELL------Though us ism news couple of minutes, and some holidays, if it favours usd currency, i will be a good move because it is in the good postion as it is forming.
I AM IN PLAYING WITH SMALL LOT AS I CAN SEE SENTIMENT ON IT ALREADY AND WILL ALLOW RIDE FOR THE NEXT 5 HOURS OR SO

the diffrence in value of pips-lets say HA close for long signal, @ 1.3000 and its high was 1.3024 , it has diffrence in pips value of 23 pips which may be okay for 4hour chat ( just illustration) it is just to tell you that it is ascending up with power. Not much pull back or so, definetely the next candle may be higher than that which in turns gives you much pips. and vice versa for sell. Hope i make it simpler enough. compare it with normal JAPANESE CANDLE UNTIL YOU ARE OK

Not neccesarily large wick,just small upper lower wicks is ok also but if it must has moderately long body, it may be okay for me. we see things differently, i just use my decision.

You are not, i played with small lots and tighten my stop because of strong daily trend. i have been stopped out for around 15 pips. i still have around 100 pips for the day, till next week

Trading on Friday news and before a US holiday? Should be interesting to watch. Lots of movement off of the US news - should be settling down after 1/2 hour. Lots of folks will be closing their positions before market close, so be careful.

My overnights are not looking healthy:

short a/u - 55
short n/u -20
long gb/j +25
long gb/a - 55

Considering closing the losses before market close

Next week is another week with lots of pips - especially with NFP on Friday

Entered as per rules, The second candle was red when i entered here.
false signal i guess
-50 pips so far.
Similarly 3 other trades on - ,
I still feel the second candle is risky to enter we well.

So do you wait for the first candle to close so that you can see if it is a long body with wicks on both ends?

Regarding the image is the purple box an indicator or did you just draw that on? If it is an indicator can you share what it is?
