Possibly a pretty british view, no offence but Germany is not only the winner of the EU. There is a book which has the title (translated) "Worldwar of currencies", the author states that the impact of Germanys contributions to Greeks' rescue could be compared with the debits of Germany after the lost 1st world war according to the treaty of Versailles .... So that bill will be paid be me and all the other dumb tax payers in Germany. It is hilarious that the German tax payers do not take to the streets whereas the Greeks who shall get the funds do so ...

In what ways is Germany the driver? By shoveling money into this bottomless pit?. How did Germany gain Trillions, compared to what the whole country lost ever since this currency was shoved down the peoples throat? Germany always had a large market to sell to, they never needed the EU for that. It might have helped the large multinational thugs but thats about all.

so why on earth is the EURO stronger than the dollar when the Dollar's got actual optimism, ill be darn pissed off if EUROUSD ignores the improved pending home sales figure later today... and continue to rise...
Maybe I am not the right person to answer...

If you check the weekly graph of DAX,DOW And Euro you will notice the correlation. I think that there could be a stock crash if euro goes below 1.25-1.26 so they will try to let it float at least above 1.40. Just watch the MACD-Histogram of the Monthly graphic and you will understand what I try to say. It sounds to me the same history of Japan in the 90s although then they tried to keep the yen low.

If more people would think how to make money instead of just looking for someone to give them money, than we wouldn't have such riots in first place.

And imho, the bigger paradox is that greek (and not only) politicians are looking for opportunities to profit long before the traders even take greek issues in consideration. And they still do.
