Welcome to the irrational club. Shorts have been killed off on the EUR/USD as it rised again and again from 1.31 (?) in the past few months, often ignoring positive news on the US front. I think it is easier to accept the fact that market is irrational then pulling your hair out. We all know Greece is unable to pay off its debt even with the austerity measures. Someone mentioned that EU is just kicking the can further down the road. Perhaps it is best to stay out of the way till the euro can finally reaches a dead end.

There are only 2 real solutions, either Germany buys it up or Tricky gets his "Finance department", everything else is just a stop gap.

Greece can never service the debt they hold, somehing has to give. Leaving the euro and defaulting on their debt, printing their own paper is not a long term solution either as their interest rates will go back to pre euro levels, plus a penalty for defaulting. Like I said in an earlier post, the FI boys run the show, not the Greek parliament.

agreed good sir, but why would germanys' taxpayers wanna do that....pay more taxes for shiet that they didnt do

Because Germany will gain far more then the couple of hundred billion they will need to write of. Get used to it, Germany is the driver in Europe, the rest is just noise. Saving the euro means that Germany has a larger market to sell their products and it gives a level playing field for manufacturing as cheaper non euro countires are taxed for entering the EU market.

Germany has gained trillions from the euro and their unemployment rate is the lowest now since euro inception.
