My 2 cents and understanding if this is as follows:
I have read that BigE has traded this method a couple of times just to see what happens purely by entering on the tdi only....nothing more...just to see how effective it is...and had success. But as far as I am aware he still uses the stoch angle for confirmation and this I believe he got from craig harris. BigE is pretty impressed by the Criag aHarris trading methodoly and I think has combined and refined his and others methods to suit his own trading style....as you should. If you think your trading is more succesful without it then by all means get rid of it. But personally....if it filters and refines our trades for and gived us higher strike rated trades, I would prefer to leave it. This method of trading is effective when the market is active or trending, so when we enter a trade we want the price to either go up or down...that simple....so to have as many things on our side to help us determine that gives us the edge..so as far as I can see the stoch angel just adds to that edge for entry confirmation....again...this is my opinion only.....But if you have a look at the caig harris method...the stoch angle is pretty much his last and main entry confirmation and he has an extremely succesul method. I believe BigE has considered it an important addition to his method and still uses it......not for the postion of it, just for the angle of it.

Did anyone else catch the entry on the USD-JPY when there was agreement between the CCI (yeah I know I have it twice but they are different colours), A/D, Bears(whatever that one is) , TDI, VSA (OK - not that one obviously, but it looked alright on the 4H chart), RSI, Stoch, A/O (... I know I have that one twice, but one re-paints) and %R??

I am not trying to change anything here - but c'mon guys - don't you want to make some money?.

If we all band together (collaborate for my benefit) I think we can fine tune my entry more. Only respond if you are a "senior trader" though.

Lastly, I am really frustrated with this 50 inch monitor - I am shopping for a bigger computer today - wish me luck? This will be the turning point for me, I'm sure. Imagine if it is one of those 3D ones!!!

PS - now that the position is open what the hell do I do now?

Hi,

I have a TDI question, on your graphs what should your TDI be reading for this correct method?

because my TDI readings are displaying 2-3 different numbers, see below in my picture on the TDI graph is says TDI 57.XX etc.. but also says 52.XX and 70.XX is this correct or do I need to change it

I know, I know.....my entry was 2 days ago, but I wanted to make sure I was in the money before I posted it.

THere has been a lot of talk about indicators over the last few posts.
If you really break this trading method down....its not about the indicators.
THe indicators used here are for trade entry and exit.
If you have a good hard look at this system it is two indicators...the tdi and the stoch, simply confirming the current price action.
The tdi forces us all to assess the price action with our forex basics and hones those basics skills.
I reckon after a few months of looking at the price action, the support and resistance levels and the candle strength etc, we would all probably be able to recognise what the actual price action is doing....the indicators merely confirm this for us in this system but also force us to improve our basics.
So rather than trying to change and alter the indicators.....I would suggest putting more effort into watching the actual price action and S/R levels and candle patterns and strengths etc and using the tdi for what it is there for...entry and exite confirmation.
If you read BigE's posts, you will see that he has an immaculate handle onprice action....S/R levels.....what the candles are telling him....
I believe if you really break it down...the tdi is just forcing us to learn to trade properly by making us interpret our forex basics much better.
BigE has spent thousands of hours in front of the screen and I would say he has simply found that the tdi green red cross alerts him to a trade possibility...but its his interpretation of the forex basics that makes him so extremely sucesful....not the tdi itself.
This is why I believe a lot of poeople here are having trouble. Dont rely on the tdi to do your work....the success in this is your forex basics understanding. Practise and hone your skills on them instead of trying to change and adapt and alter the indicators.
Thats how I see it anyway.

I agree. This thread is about the TMS system. If anyone wants to start a thread on compairing indicators, by all means, do it...on a different thread.
BigE wants to keep this thread clean and clear of other indicators, and anyone pushing anything other than whats in the original rules should be ashamed for taking advantage of the absence of this systems founder!

Big E at the outset of this thread requested that participants confine the discussion to the Trading Made Simple concepts AND that discussion of alternative/additional indicators be conducted elsewhere. The risk, as he explained, is that this thread becomes diluted and in time can move far away from its original intent and become useless to those that use TMS.

Seems to me that all of us need to heed his advice. This thread is far too valuable to all of us who find this to be the most successful trading method that we have found to have extended posts get diverted toward modified methods and additional indicators that have no bearing on TMS that Big E created for our mutual benefit.

Lets all respect what Big E originally intended and established.

If you want to discuss modications to Trading Made Simple go somewhere else or start your own thread.

If you want to discuss additional/alternative indicators go somewhere else or start you own thread.

Because of his absence due to Big E's ill health this very crutial thread is in danger of getting way off track and losing its value.

Please, let's not knowingly or unknowingly ruin a really important place to discuss TMS by moving it away from what it is intended to do.

This indicator #Signal_Bars_v9 shows trend on mtf of MACD, Stochastic RSI and Moving Averages and Market Price in big fonts.
This is posted by CJA at forex-tsd.
It has a password (free_at_tsd)
If you can not fin there then tell me I will post it here

Did you ignore the last few posts about indicators?? this is a thread for people using the TMS method of trading..........STOP posting indicators that have nothing to do with BigE's method.

chart requirements:
HA candles
stochastics 8, 3 , 3
tdi red and green lines only
dont be ignorant...listen to all these people telling you to keep your other indicators to yourself.

Dean: Thanks for banishing that moment of doubt I had about the stochastic indicator. I'm all for keeping it simple, but removing it is maybe going a step too far!

I agree with all the other long term contributors, please try to follow the simple rules laid down by BigE

If your posting your charts, try to make sure that the TMS template at the start of this thread is at the core of your setup and you mark your entry with a red line.

If someone sees an indicator they like on someone's chart please PM them for it, please don't post on the thread.

Lets get this thread back on track, post your trades (loosing and winning) with your basic forex/TMS analysis.

I think this is worth a repost, all BigE's comments from this thread and the old one combined.

For newbie's not familiar with the old thread the first 14 pages of this doc is from the old thread, some of it is useful but ignore the bits where BigE is talking about waiting for the candle to close over the EMA (we don't trade that way now) the last half of the doc is the newer stuff you should be focusing on.
