1. also you wana try the NFP reason?? NFP tomorrow Previous at 244K Forecast at 192K thats a reduction in non-farm employment and you think thats good for the USD?? you want the EURUSD to drop means USD strength but i barely see ANY strength with the NFP theory...
2. The Barrier taken out only means that EURUSD would be A LOT EASIER to go up if big boys...

Back to the upside/downside debate.
Personally, the only way I can see substantial upside is if EU and Germany shows up with a solid agreement in place that they will unconditionally bail out Greece no matter, because let's face it, there's absolutely no way Greece will ever get out of this debt nor pay it until they default.
It's either they default first, or the German taxpayers take to the streets and force Merkel out.
Also, with the bad data coming out of the US, a bad NFP number and we could see 1300 taken out on the ES, and that will...
As you probably know, macro international finances don't work like that. Sure Germany will have a big chunk of the contribution on any bailout but is not like they are going to close down public services or pension to do that. Extending maturities, looking guarantess and repayments through privatizations etc, (which obvisuly private german business and other contributors are going to happily profit from them on the side, etc) and more advanced monetary tools through the IMF, ECB, etc will be used.... in simple words is not the cash money from the fiscal budget so no, no riots in Germany, etc, etc.
I agree that Greek default is given, they are only delaying the fact until the EZ find a new safety net to hold the short term financial shock of the news and take precaution for any domino effect (did you read today about Trichet mentionin a Ministry of Finance fot the EZ ...of course is BS in practice but the ECB is only in charge of building expectations and thats a massive one for the euro)
The US and the dollar are not in a much better shape that the EZ (in total), FED is struggling to manage the small margin of monetary policy. With QE2 expired, numbers and markets already decided too (like with greece) QE3 is a done deal, so also delaying the real reforms for a while hoping that the US real economy pass the hurdle for real....but election year coming so no Obama or anybody will sacrifice political capital to make reforms ... in simple words, more printing money, more QE3, interest rates for too long too low and playing with fire on deficits both at federal and state levels....
Choose your poison or better play both sides and keep gold as the benchmark of how bad the EZ, the UK, Japan and the US are going in terms on macroeconomic managment...

and where does that day close at and what year?? oh and MAY 5th RIGHT that 300 pips.. well not that 300 pip drop doesnt occur, its very rare... given the circumstance of May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, the market opened and closed completely doji, no movement at all... so im guessing its more like a move After 4 days of inactivity.. so yea that occurs, only when you got 3 spindles in a row where the market didnt move anywhere but spiked every direction... otherwise ALMOST never 300 pips... go look at 2nd, 3rd and 4th open and close of those candles were...
