Anything you can use to kind of gage and increase your odds is good.

Yesterday was the New Moon.

Usually the cycle that starts, specially the New Moon, which has a much more stronger effect than others will last approximately 7-10 business days.

This is just out of observation over a period of 1 year.

You are correct..the market moves in cycles..even to the minute, and price must be in a certain place during these cycles..news can change them..obviously... but they revert right back...big banks (market makers) use price cycles...price movement can be random within these cycles, and banks do not step on each others toes as they take your money.
i guess there is no need to post 4324 as #4

Agreed with the monthly candle range. I will only add that the main/only problem is in the detail of that last monthly candle. It is maybe a technicality but I do pay a lot of attention to detail on above daily candles: There was a rejection of highs and a rejection of lows in the same bar (this happens very seldom if ever in this pair) in simple words an outside candle which implies indecision.

Monthly chart alone is in a range since april 2008 and testing the upper range for the 3rd time. However monthly direction is on the top of a wave up (that is not over till is over ...) so as long as last swing high (1.428x) is holding a monthly close (not a rejection in simple words) the current direction is to the upside with a cap on the top of the range 1.50xx . So upside wave on range chart testing top.

I am also more bias to the short side (FA and TA). However as in any range as long as the last swing high/low holds the top/bottom of the range momentum holds into the current direction and IMO as long that last rejection of monthly lows hold is better to be on the more conservative short side....a monthly close below that swing and the bottom of the range will be open 1.269x for the end of the year or before,
