Has anyone else gone long on the EU/JPY and short on the US/CAD daily TF?
seemed like both had space to move further before exhausted.

Also potential on the AUD/CAD but decided to stay clear with the GDP news out in a few hours

how do you get the tdi to download to your chart? I am using
fxcm tradestation ii. I really like the trading made simple thread and am looking forward to trading that method. I hope someone
will help me get started.

Eelfranz,

Checking in...

I would like to say to other traders that I have been trading this method for a couple of months now and have never made so much money.
The most I've personally made is $250.00 trading 1 mini contract
on the 4 hour chart in one session. However many many days I've made
over $100.00 a day trading 1 mini contract. ($1.00 per pip=over 100
pips).

Before I was struggling with the 1, 5, 15 minute charts and I was lucky if
I made $20.00 to $30.00 a day. So from my perspective the 5 method
that Eelfranz teaches is a money...

Remember - I only trade the 4hr charts during the London session only. I exit all trades at 6am pacific time....

IF I see any good trade set ups during the day I drop to the 1hr charts....

do you advise against trading primarily on the 4 hr charts for longer term trades, trades that could potentially go on for a couple of days. Reason I ask is that I seem to see a lot of pretty good setups on the 4 hr charts that can go on for 16plus hrs.

Hey Big E, welcome back and I hope you are taking care of yourself.
By the above comment, do you mean you keep your charts on the 4 hour and if you see a setup on the 4 hour, you change to one hour to confirm?? or do you mean during the day you switch to the one hour charts to look for setups?

Big E, thanks God you're back on track. Wish you a quick recovery.

AS per our business here, I guess there's a confusion around about the TDI crossing. Some people just jump in at the very moment the TDI crosses, and some others wait for the candle to close.

For you to consider a true crossing, you would wait the candle where TDI is crossing to close and enter at the beginning of the next, or you jump in when TDI IS crossing, no matter that current candle can close opposite and TDI barely touches or repaints with no touch at all?

This would clarify if candle 1 is the first in line AFTER crossing is confirmed by a closed candle.

Thanks a lot in advance for your clarifications.

Yes, you're correct, the angle depends on the size of the window. We can't just ignore it, and I hope that BigE would pay attention to this problem.

Right now I watch 6 pairs, each chart is 1/6 of the screen's size, and I try not to change the size.

And sometimes the angle changes very drastically if you reload the chart or if you change the time frame and then return to the 4 hour chart, and what in the beginning was a perfect entry then becomes a very poor set up because the TDI changed its angle and sometimes even a crossing.
I think this is an important issue since It could be the difference beetwen a good entry or a poor entry.
Regards
Indicators always obey Price, not the other way.

I am short on this pair for the last few hours it has pulled back a bit but I am looking for 30 pips . On the long side there was talk on the local news here in NZ last night that it could hit around the 85 mark. so the pull back may not be very much. I am keeping a close eye on it

ps closed it out -8

Just to pre-empt BigE's reply, I think he chooses 4HR because that's his bed time. I cut and pasted this into a word document from way back in the thread:

If my normal trading hours included the London Session I'd trade it on the 1hr charts. Then I'd trade the first couple of hours on the N.Y session on the 1hr charts too. Then I'd be off the charts until an hour or two before the London Session...
from this I assume he wouldn't trade 4 HR charts at all if he didn't have to sleep.

Thanks for that, its hard to remember every post on this forum. So my question to BigE about this would be: If you had the ideal timing and you could trade the session you wanted.....how would your trading differ using the one hour charts in regards to TP and time spent within a trade?? I imagine the 3-8 candles does not apply and the profit is a lot less so I am wondering (as probably many are) how you trade the one hour charts??
Thanks BigE
