Nice results. But are your trading the demo on daily chart or which time frame?

Another questions is elfanz seems to have an alarm in the mt4 EA that will go off when signal come. Do you have any of this EA? How do I install it?

What precisely do you mean by daily support. Are you referring to previous daily levels.

You really need to read the entire thread. If you are new to forex you should first study www.babypips.com also. The TDI indicator is on this thread in several places, including post 25.

Good Luck

Hi there

I am very new to Forex. But I already managed to loose my account twice. Still, I am not giving up. No, I am even more interested in Forex.

Reading your thread about the TDI really impressed me.
So I was looking in my platform if I can find this one. But, no success.

Can u give me any hints how to find it and what are your settings for the TDI?

I really thank you for your help and I wish you all the best and always

Good trading
Marcel

Hey Everyone,

In your opinion what would you think would be best for TP with this method trading off of the H1 charts.

1)A set amount of pips?

2)When the TDI gives you an exit signal?

Thank in advance
Ignored
Hey,

As mentioned before somewhere on here by Big E himself, the methodology stays the same on any TF. Try backtesting with the current method on H1 and see if you like the results.

You can lose out on a great run by setting yourself short with a set amount. Also as with a static TP, it does not work for each pair. For example, a 100 pip TP on EUR/GBP and a 100 pip TP on GBP/JPY (AKA The Beast) is completely different. Just listen to the TDI and let it do the work for you.

Work smarter not harder.

Hi,

I'm looking to start using this method with my live account starting with 1k at 10 pip only trading on GBP/USD to start off with, hoping to make around 40pips a day using this system.

one other question does this system work with i.e. FTSE 100, DOW or just Forex?

With my 1K account i'm going to go with 10 pip with 70 SL so risk management of 70% however the entries i enter I'll weigh up other factors like price res etc..

I'm hoping to get to 10k then go to 1% risk management, so would it be fair to say with this system you could...

Hello,

I want to say 1st that I am not judging you at all. i understand that the funds you are using are expendable, but you R:R is so out of balance. If you want to play around with this live, which you should as demo IS NEVER THE SAME AS LIVE. EVER, trade with 1 not 10. Heres why:

If you run into some bad trades, everyone does, all you need is 2 bad trades and your done. Now what? Wait till you have another 1K you dont care about?

You can do well with this and turn 1K into more in a fair amount of time.

Also, I dont believe in using a static SL. 70 pips on G/U might be ok but it depends. Use 2% or even 5% SL. SL should be adjusted to the markets, not the trader.

My 2P

I don't really know what you want but: In mt-4; go to properties , common tab , and click on "show period seperators". (lower right). Hope that's what you need.

Hi Dean. If you change the extension (of the file name) of the template from .tpl to .txt, then it will open in Notepad, and you can edit it. Then when you are finished, change it back to .tpl. Dont worry about the warning you get saying ........it may become unusable etc.
Hope it helps.

It's the weekend and I am bored. A lot of good talk amongst the 5E crew re entries and SL, but it is worth looking a bit more closely at "reward" in your trade selections. We all know when we should be technically closing positions (TDI green hook/flat), but prior to entry picking trades with 1:1 or 1:2 at least may be helpful in picking the best trades / not over-trading / over-leveraging.

To help make this assessment you can modify your MT4 Fib Tool as per my chart. This is not my idea so I take no credit but it is useful in evaluating potential entries. To do it, just put the standard fib on your chart, open properties and modify as per below:

0% = S/L
100% = EP
200% = 1:1
300% = 2:1 etc..

To put the actual value leave a space and type: -%$
e.g. 1:1 -%$

Close the fib and then re-apply to chart, by putting your cursor on your entry point and drag it to your desired SL level. Once I put my trade on I usually delete it so it does not clutter up my chart.

I hope this makes sense and helps.

Don't know if anyone has noticed this problem but when I right click on any chart and press for indicators list the list does not appear and the MT4 programme freezes and I have to go to task manager to get out of it, no matter which version of MT4 I use (I have 3 or 4 for playing around with and one for my live account), so I can't change any of the indicator parameters on the fly. I have re-booted etc, cleared all indicators on a chart and then put up one at random and the same happens, any thoughts is it my system or something to do with the latest MT4 update?

Alex

I have 2 computers. The one I use for trading only works fine. On the other one I have the same problem. I even uninstalled MT4 & reloaded it from the broker but it still locks up.

Quite a nice idea. Could be useful, but its a pity we cant have an additional Fib Tool, just for this. Shame to have to use the built in Fib tool, because it is useful sometimes. Thanks for the good idea.

Hi all, would like to know, if enter with either base on 1hr, or 4hr chart, do we check on lower tf for better entry price?

Thanks.
