Hi Guys,
There are many things that can slow mt4 and its response.
1. Your internet connection, i.e. speed and reliability.
2. Your computer, i.e. speed and reliability.
3. EAs needs to calculate at each tick and can slow reaction especially at high price action.
4. Indicators also need to calculate at each tick and some custom indicators use excess power and can slow mt4 and affect the speed at which mt4 reacts to your request.
5. The number of charts you have open in mt4 also can cause your platform to slowdown. Because they all need data and all need to react to that data.
Therefore if you have EAs and multiple indicators on multiple charts, expect at NFP and other news times that the amount of data sent from GO to your computer will increase and the amount of calculations your computer has to do before it can react to the data and your request will also increase, therefore slowing mt4s reaction time.
So if you have a large amount of charts open, try closing some.
If you have one or more EAs, close them at news times and see what happens.
If you have numerous indicators on your charts, remove some or at least take them off the charts you are not using at the time.
MT4 can be working fine but just under the problem-bar and the extra data at news times can push mt4 over the bar and cause the problems you are talking about.

Yeah thought of all that Peter I dont think that could come into it as I dont use EAs and all I have on my chart is 2 mas pivots and macd and I have about 6-8 charts on the platform at one time, dont worry I have tried many things.
I was thinking if some of you guys could take note of what time (US time) it happens then we could see if its the same time or not that surely would mean its not us and that will cross that of the list.

One more thing you could look at:
Go to Tools/Options/Charts and look at “Max Bars in History” mine is 512000. You could cut this amount.
Also “Max Bars in Charts” mine is 65000. You could cut this also.
If you have checked all the above and my previous post, then we are getting closer to asking Chris to follow up on his side.
There is one more thing:
Go to your “Task Manager” by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL then Start Task Manager/ Processes and look for “terminal.exe” and see what memory mt4 is using, mine is 48,280k.
And the final thing to do…is not look below the M15 or the H1 charts. That way you don’t see the delay and you can go and do something else for a while before looking at your charts again.
You can also look at your processor power:
Go to the Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/System then look at Processor. Mine has Duel Processor running at 2.66 GHz each.
I think we’ve just about checked everything on your computer.

On the task manager mine is running at 25 k and 30 k but that is this morn wether that changes or not during hi data times Im not sure.
Yep dual processor with same Ghz.
The thing is I run another platform I wont say who that runs fine so thats why I am pretty sure its not my end maybe I need to take some video.
I had the same thing last night one stop amend order took ages to go thru so its not just buy or sell orders.
I dont know what to do Chris have you any suggestions other than whats been said?

Yes I just checked my Task Manager and the size is now 50,160k that’s an increase of 1,880k since my last post. I’m not sure on this, but I presume the size increases according to the amount of data in both the “Max Bars in History” and “Max Bars in Charts” and any other changes you may have made.
Regarding your two platforms from two different brokers, this means you are receiving twice the data, one lot for each broker. It could be that one mt4 commandeers the power of your computer and receives the data before the other. Have you turned one platform off during NFP and observed whether there is a difference.
Just thought of one other thing that will slow response re buy, sell or close of an order. If you have not sent a request to GO for awhile, I’m not sure how long “awhile” is, but your request takes longer. I’ve noticed this happen; that there are times when I haven’t sent a request for a few hours, there is a slight delay. This is possible because I have been put at the back of the queue. However, from then on reaction is very fast, unless I do nothing for quite awhile again.
I would take Chris up on his offer and let one of his staff come and setup your system. If it works and they improve your trading, let me know and I’ll request that one comes to my place as well. Tasmania isn’t far from Melbourne.

Im sure by now you have read all the posts after my last one and we all have realised that the issue i was facing is happening with many of gomarkets clients. I have read the whole thread and have realised that even before there were many traders who had complained of this.
Its not a matter of calling in. Its manipulation for sure.
As many have mentioned, and so have i, that all other mt4 brokers are working during the same time and DC connection is correct.
Pity, i had thought you would be a honest broker out there. Boy was i wrong.
Not calling in, but withdrawing funds out.
Get honest, you brokers should.
ps - i have seen a few +ve posts ( replies to complaints ) in this forum and they are by the same old handful of traders. Makes me laugh

good luck finding your "honest broker". prove that your internet connection is 100% perfect at all times and that gomarkets is targetting you specifically (as if you would be moving any real volume for anyone to actually care, lol). PROVE THAT SOMETHING SHADY IS GOING ON. a bitch and moan is not proof of anything but of your own shortcomings.
it's always the people who don't know how to turn on their pc, program their vcr, do simple math, etc, who complain the most. it's always someone elses fault and never their own.

my connection to gomarkets drops out quite a lot, but you know what my pc is connected wirelessly to the router and the isp isn't necessarily brilliant. with a hundred potential areas of problem between my pc and the go servers there is literally NO POINT me complaining about something that likely isn't the fault or responsibility of go. EFFECT does NOT equal CAUSE. i have troubles loading forex factory sometimes too. that's life, and THAT'S THE INTERNET.
go could be the best brokers in existence, or they could be the shadiest most deceitful bunch of crooks ever... but i'm smart enough to know i should get my own shit together first before pointing fingers and throwing stones. my experience with go in general has been fine, and i keep seeing chris replying to peoples bitching in a professional and genuinely helpful manner. all for nothing but further nonsense.
chris has the patience of a saint. it's just a shame some of the clients are common customer plebs.

I told you in my last post that ill call in if im the only one facing this issue. Its been proven that many have faced the same.
No point of calling in. Im wiser then that. Thanks for you contribution but the fact remains that manipulation is happening with traders accounts.
I encourage you to read all the above post links and look into this matter seriously. Not for me, but for new/noobs traders. ( possibly nubcake above )

so what do we have? a few members making a stink because when big impacts hit the market they can't trade like everything is normal... because it's NOT. also, because you were not the only member to experience this same event you are now taking your ball and going home. boo hoo.
so on one hand it could either have been JUST you, in which case you were being targetted and you would then whine about this, or on the other hand a few members experience the same drop in quality at the same big impact event and so in this case you are now going to walk away.
we can all also note that you mention you are overseas, as did another member who had issues. so basically the expanse of ocean and however many servers your pc's have to go through to get to the go server counts as nothing in terms of potential issues. cool.
