Hmm... current short term bias pivot @ 4836. Fawker bounced right off of it. Trapped between here and DPP. lovely.

that supports my view that we are no longer in a ranging market

a thrust to test 1.4900 levels at which point price fell caught is breath at 1.48300 did not follow pattern

now it is acting funny right?

conditions have changed, i believe up we go and bull continues its path however cant bet the farm on it.

however, patterns change and mutate we could be seeing a head and shoulder formation and down we go. the market is not clear, so lets wait

I don't know about the great trader business... just here to make some pips...

But Yes, daily still shows bulls have full control but I have yet to put any swings in for this week. Missed the good entries on Sunday/monday and then didn't feel like messing with the euro rangey crap, plus NFP this week... So yeah. Just scalps for now.

I wouldn't bet the farm on a long at this point either.

My H4 Bias pivot is currently sitting @ 4796, And Daily Bias Pivot @ 4697.


The last time the daily had more than 1 candle close below this bias pivot was the dip on February 12/13th. :/

and how the hell do you think oil got To 144 then to 40 then back to 120 in under a 3 year cycle? is this normal fundies at work ?

It's just a calculation I use based off of Lows/Highs & Average true range of the last 5 bars. It tries to maintain a sort of bias for me. Above it I am biased long, below biased short. This almost makes sure I know when I am playing trend continuations and retraces.

It's basically just to make sure I am half paying attention... for those nights when my eyes are sleepy and I have been staring at my charts too long.

I dubbed it 'bias pivot' since it's where I switch my bias depending on time frame. Usually it's not indicative of important levels though.

see i use true range but a little different.

dont average it i want to know
hi-low current low-prev close current hi - previous close
of daily to measure thrust and speed of price, to let me know when momentum is decreasing and give me an idea of what range im looking at as to not have.
over eagerness or false expectations of where price might move to.

however i dont understand the concept of this bias pivot, you are trying to use it as a static average to show you direction of price for the week, as to be aware that price has been moving in a certain direction?

am i correct?

Your last statement basically got it. It's really nothing more than a line that is around the averaged ATR.

More of a helper then anything, but when trending we consistently stay above or below it.

If I really wanted too, I could make an entire strategy out of it. heh heh.

but i am in this threat to teach to those that want to listen

and learn from those that might be wiser.

we all use different methodologies and strategies, and to each individual it makes sense and works.
know yourself and know the enemy is the trick (know your system and how/when to use it and the market to use it on)

now i like this forum because our tactics is like our languages, it gives us a different outlook that we might not have thought off.
i love learning different ways to do thing and adapt it or discarded depending on how useful it is to me.

and in turn i have respect for you. as in your calls trading it seems you know what youre doing, maybe i can learn from you
maybe you can learn from me.

mutual cooperation and interaction of ideas, never stop learning and dont be greedy to teach.

Not not at all. I totally understand why it has moved but the problem I see and what has caused the exchange to step in is the speed of the move.

And yes I have seen similar circumstances before regarding margin increases, namely in reference to my main bread and butter - index futures.

Not to the same extent but then S&P and Dow haven't had the same parabolic sky's the limit type move that Silver has had.

I'm not entirely delusional, malcom...I don't think I carried silver to $50 on my own.

Just stating silver futures on the CME exclusively did not bring it there.

On your example of oil...do you have record of the CME raising margin requirements four times in eight days? Five times in 13 days, as will be the case on the 9th?

The new parabolic marvel in silver is the CME margin hike frequency and amounts. Know where I can trade it?
