For anyone not knowing how the TDI works the green and red lines will not move or change direction untill a new candle opens. it takes the data from the last closed candle and this is where it will move after a new candle opens. This is why we ''wait'' for a new candle to open to see where the TDI will move to and see if a new trade is present to take. If I am wrong please correct me as this is what I have found in backtesting of the TDI.

I understand and I am extremely grateful numb3rs. I have only taken one trade using this method as I want to be fully comfortable with it first (hence the ridiculous amoutn of questions). It concerns me with demo trading that you dont get the same mental aspect so I just use a micro account. My trade size is 0.01 lots. If you think I should still demo, I will do it. I really do appreciate your concern and help....ALL of you.

I discovered this thread 4 weeks ago. Since then I have read the full thread over and over. Making notes of rules, cutting and pasting them into my own document. Taking snap shots of charts and watching the market based on the criteria. Observing and understanding what makes a good trade or bad trade.

To date I have not asked one single question!

And to date I have not taken one single trade!

I have an alarm set at 4hr intervals so I can observe the data live.

I love your enthusiasm but it's time to take a deep breath and work through the information.

Dean,

each pair is different, you have to watch the way it flows and watch it PA, E has an entry on the first or second crossing the 5 with conformation on the crossing of the tdi, as per the chart below.

TDI had crossed
candle 1 was below the 5
stoch was going down


Could i have gotten in on the first, sure becuase of the pin bar for that ( 4th candle back)
Could i have gotten in on the first cross of the TDI at the 68 line going down yes

However, the fourth candle back was a reversal candle, then what i consider a bearish engulfing candle (engulfed the body, not quite a complete engulfing, but close enough for me)

My exit was set on the width of the engulfing candle plus spread

works for me 90% of the time

A little off topic, but relevant to the last page or two of dialog...

There's some good people in this thread. I don't spend much time on FF because many many threads are diluted with bickering and name calling and other childish behavior, but I am impressed with the professionalism displayed here. Everyone has been polite and willing to help, and not acting like smug, conceited, arrogant A-holes like in other threads. Good stuff. I actually feel compelled to stick around now. I usually post on Hot Stock Market, but their forex section is pretty dead. Great people and great info, just not enough people. Anyway I'll get off my soap box now.

Great thread and thanks to everyone who's worked to create this system. The TDI has been a great tool to round out my trading tool box.

Why not use your MT4 strategy tester. Load your template and go for it. I'm just trading trading trading on this till it all becomes second nature. Hones your skills for the live market.

Dean it's up to you. Thats just my advice. Do what you feel is right for you. We are all different. I demo some of my trades. I live trades the setup I feel confident in and even those are looser sometimes. I'm with you on keeping the amount small. I do .10 per pip.

Can anyone tellme if the heiken color has anything to do with when to enter a trade, for example if i have a TDI crossover for a short and all else is in line but lets say the heiken has turned red 3 candles ago,does this matter even if the PA is correct along with the Stoch and the cross over. thanks

Hey Davlo

The trigger to enter is the TDI cross-over (having appropriate regard to all the other set up factors mentioned previously). Unless you are flicking between timeframes, you would be hard pressed to find a series of red candles preceding a short entry signal. In fact, unless it is a "bounce trade" I don't think it is even possible.

Thanks eelfranz, kumodrago, and jrushing for straightening out the entry rules for me. For some reason I thought all the potential entries need to happen after the TDI cross of the closed bar.

I know the cross should only be treated as an alert and there are many factors which needs to be considered to gauge potential of a trade. When you guys speak of PA, this is PA on the HA bars, not the actual bars, correct? I think the biggest adjustment for me is to trade w/o seeing the PA of the actual bars.

I basically understand most of the entry and exit rules. The rules are quite clear.

The only thing I'm a bit puzzled about is the Stochastic indicator as a confirmation. Would we need the Stochastic and TDI to be unison? (sloping the same direction) before entering?
I assume this correct thing to look out for.

Just some observation.
Note: in 4hour AUDUSD, the TDI is heading down (after 3rd candle) and the Stochastic may have bottomed.

I am assuming here, the PA may have bottomed out.
From your experience, would this be the correct assumption? Or is there room for PA to move down.

I have set my observation charts to look at 1hour and 4 hour. 1 hour for entry and confirmation.

Today is my first day trading using this system. At moment I just observing how this system works.
