Was it pippettes I was seeing on the right? Cause there was no 200+ pip drop on EU today. 20 pips I could believe.
Ignored
yes Kumo....it is a 5 digit account...ie 1.87543 instead of 1.8754....so 200 is really 20 pips

Stimuls,

When I see green cross red it's a set up... but before taking the trade I look at PA, Hi/Lo, Res/Sup, Stoch's, etc, etc BASIC Forex things you need to check on any method or possible entry.. If it all looks good, I jump in... only takes 30 sec. to look at it all when your experienced. It's quick...

At night when I enter a 4hr trade I go to bed and don't monitor the trade until the next 4hr candle appears. If it still looks good I let it continue and go back to sleep. If not I exit the trade and go back to sleep... I close all my trades at 6am... just my style. Then I only look at the 1 hr. chart during the day for set ups and trades... my style... That's what fits me...

Trade it the way you feel safest on Demo. When you find what fits you... stick to it and build confidence... maybe tweeking it here or there to fit your style... make it yours...

It was designed to be simple... Keep it simple and don't complicate it.

Really really sorry but I have to ask this to confirm for good.
I woke up this morning (I am in Aus) and jsut had a quick look through my charts to look for setups and pretty much train my brain to get familiar with what it is I am looking for. It is 10am here and the Sydney and Tokyo sessions are open so I know its the wrong time of day. But lets forget that for a minute and pretend it was the London session and time to trade.
In this chart I see what looks to me an excellent setup.Tdi has crossed. TDI and stochs at the right angle. last upward run was strong, quite a few pips before resistance is hit, strong second candle, crossed ema.
My question is....as you can see on the screen, there is 1 hour and 20 minutes before this second candle closes. Can I enter now?? or was my only chance to enter this trade when the candle opened?? AS in...is entering a trade specifically only ever on the opening of a new candle?? Sorry again for the question but this is still not clear to me. The way I see it, if you are looking for 3 to 8 candles, and this looks as strong as it does, even 1 more candle would bag a few pips. But I really want to get it clear in my head.....is trade entry ONLY on the opening of a fresh new candle??

Stimuls,

Let me backup Big E on this, I use to have all the MA, Indi, lines and crap all over my charts, I finally got it when reading this thread "THE KISS Method"..........(KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID)

I took off all the indi, lines and crap off my charts, I look at the stoch, TDI, and PA. The size of the candle, the move as of the time I am wanting to enter a trade. The TDI is my main indicator period. I have made more pips .....consistantly in profit than in the past year.

In reading this thread, I learned ( and still learning) that PA tells you where it is going, when to get in when to get out. This is not an exact science, nothing in Forex is or will ever be. watch the flow, but most of all KEEP IT SIMPLE............

Hi Kumo:

Thanks for taking time to answere my question!
I do know the basic and purpose of a trailing stop. What I am not sure of is the tecnique of how to apply it.

Thanks again, Adong

I've got several different Demo accounts with several different brokers. This one is with Liquidity Connection. My FXDD account hasn't crossed yet either. Different feeds, I guess.

Milicentfx: I have also tried mptm, however, it is WAY too complicated for me I use visual order editor, just set your BE (Break even) to the level you like. this trade manager lets you alter your SL and TP by just dragging the visual line on chart instead of editing your order. If your broker is 5 digits, just add the extra zero to your levels.

Hi eelfranz,
In post 955 you say there is no setup on candle one yet. Is this becasue the green hadnt quite crossed the red on the tdi??
and lets say it had crossed...would you enter a trade on that first candle?
Really sorry to harp on thsi point eelfranz I just havent quite got it clear in my head.
Thank you
Dean

Dean,

Your Question:

In post 955 you say there is no setup on candle one yet. Is this becasue the green hadnt quite crossed the red on the tdi?? YES

and lets say it had crossed...would you enter a trade on that first candle?
Yes

.....is trade entry ONLY on the opening of a fresh new candle?? ++++ That's where your best momentum is at but you can enter a little late but your odds drop...

My chart for some reason is slightly different to yours. My tdi green has not crossed the red but yours has??? anyone know why?? +++ Different Broker...

eelfranz, this is where my confusion lies. You say yes you would enter, but that first candle might be say 2 hours old??? See I am unsure as to entry times precisely. My interpretation is that you only enter trades on a brand new candle, but if you were to enter on the first candle in that chart it might be 2 hours old.
Am I making sense?? Can you see where I am getting confused?
Thank you

fxbr56,

Change your Stochs to 80 & 20 lines...

Both charts are in consolidation channel...

You do not have Stochs confirmation

Last swing lows are close
