Why a trader always try to guess the top and dig at bottom..this much be a human nature to outdo than others..

It can causes dearly when it comes to trading..

Do not try to always swim in small pond..

Hi there,

I have a question regarding the zigzag lines I see here on several peoples charts... are these drawn by hand or do is there an indicator I missed?

Not a big fan to short..for now..1.483x acting as a nice support..(see box)

and I think I am seeing stopping vol coming..that mean the last hours decline gonna stop..

So true. Here some ''flow'' input from hedge funds and big players :

Asian central banks are still buying eur and aud versus the usd on dips. Models of hedge funds are still positioned maximum USD short...

Upward trend in eurusd, gbpusd, audusd remains very much intact... I am not trying to pick a top yet. My take: In the next few days we will see 1.5000 possibly higher EU if no unexpected news comes out. From a fundamental perspective, the short usd position is best played against long AUD

Yesterday PA came down to test whole number, and since has made multiple swings up/dn thru it. This last move down to test it was very quickly rebounded. Dragon is angled up. PA is above both the Dragon and the Trend, which has leveled off during all this activity.

I entered this short yesterday. It turned and ran up. In asian session today, I entered again, at what I thought would be near highs. I placed SL above RgH, hoping that would not be hit, and placed TP just so at to make profit on EP1. I thought by trying my hand at a pair without "USD" in it, things might be a bit more steady. My bad!

Note how PA has been oscillating about the whole number. The orange SR line and the DPV are in that area. The PA WAVE has fallen down thru, come back up thru on a test, and has fallen down thru again. Now PA is below the Dragon, and the Dragon is somewhat angled down. Both PA and the centerline of the Dragon are below the Trend, which has also been drifting lower during all this activity.

This all happened on Wednesday, the day of multiple USD high impact releases. After adding EP3 on Tuesday, PA went up even more. But Wednesday, before the London Open, the price started falling. During this fall the SL was lowered to BE+1 on EP2. And the SL was later hit for a net profit of 4 pips. Somehow, posting this earlier slipped thru the crack.

That is it for me for the week. I have three new trades still running at a loss (UChf -157, UCad -63, and EJ -92). If I closed them here, the loss is -312 pips. The trades opened and closed this week total +425, for a net gain of 113. I'll hold the three over the weekend and see what next week brings.

Nando, I received and replied to your PM. The chart below contains some stuff for you to consider regarding a SonicR VSA indy, and regarding using any such indy vs the SonicR Volume indy.

Regarding a VSA indy, there exists sources of confusion. A ClimaxUp candle (green) can appear, moving price up, and then later price goes up more. But it can also be just a price hike to get higher prices for shorting, and be followed by price dropping later. The same goes for a ClimaxDn candle (red). It can drop price, and later prices continue to drop. But it can also just drop price to get better prices for going long, and be followed later by the price moving up. And either result for green/red candles can follow if the candle appear at/near a PA high or low! So, we cannot really tell anything for certain by the color, or by where the candle occurs in the overall PA! All we can be certain of is that there was higher than usual activity. And that is equally well shown by the SonicR Volume indy.

In the pic below there are three versions of the SonicR VSA. First is the one previously posted, which you inquired about. Second is a version that uses both the climax formula and the density formula to produce just "high activity" bars. Third is a version that just shows climax formula bars.

I have worked on the VSA indys (Better Volumes, SonicR VSA, etc.), but I really do not see what all the fuss is about. This type of volume indy sends up flags, but each with two possible opposite interpretations, and which cannot be reliably deciphered based on where the candle appears! For my money, the simple SonicR Volume indicator is best. It shows stopping/starting volumes better than anything else. And that is about all that forex "volume" is reliable for.

If you have a "way" of interpreting the candles in the SonicR VSA that has proven reliable in terms of what PA does next, then by all means please post a lesson on it!

So, please look at all this, and consider what you want done, if anything.

Well spotted!
There was a pure vanilla SonicDJ sell set up in EY even after your first indication:

1. ideal wave build up H-L-LH-...
2. downward sloping dragon
3. rebound into the dragon but not piercing trough it
4 price is below the Sonic trendline
5. we wait for the breakout below previous 2-3 bars

A pure beauty, using your and Sonic's rules, all necessary criteria were met. You and Sonic (and Danpa) have made an excellent system and refined the rules via hard work. Respect to all of you.

As a suggestion and constructive remark -if I may-: value can be added now by others here to spot the 'textbook' setups in time and communicate them asap. I for one hope to contribute in future in spotting and communicating textbook setups.

Hi TAH...i'm just interesting on climax bars as posible sign of stop vol...

I'm using it as posible 1st exit and SL to BE if it fit with a s&r zone and have risk of reversal.

I'm watching boths...vsa and sonicR vol...the last one for absorbing vol on consolidating zones overall.

The 3rd VSA vol just with climax bars and with an alarm add when the climax bar appear (if posible on Close of the m15 bar) would be great for me!!!

For the time being, if you just want the cleanest display of only green and red "climax" bars, then:

Inputs tab-
1. change averaging period to "10".
2. put moving average line on to "true".
3. put display ShortName to "false".

Colors tab-
1. change Black to LightGray.
2. change Blue to LightGray.

You will get the display shown in the picture, just the green and red "climax" bars plus the "10" moving average period line will still show those times when activity jumps above the average....sort of like the dark blue lines in the SonicR Volumes indy. Or, you can leave the MA line "false" if you prefer.

I wonder about combining, so we have an indy that shows when there is a jump above the average volume and the climax up/dn bars?
