to be honest The euro simply cannot be the standard of world currencies

to be the reserve currency you need, strength and stability.

the Euro fundamentally is a lot riskier than holding the dollar. After today Q&A from Bernanke investors will continue to willingly trade USD for anything that holds a higher yield.

see the market is moving to the tune of the USD is the expectation of further erosion in value that is causing the debasement, as well as the little reward for holding a devaleating currency.

however the world holds its breath on the USD, if money tightening and economic traction would start to be evident in the US. The Euro would be completely sold off.

EUROPA suffers from nationalism and unequal economic conditions, the peripheral countries in Europe are bankrupt, the Core european countries are easing the potential disaster by lending money = taking more debt for junk bonds. Finland is at risk of wanting to break away from the union, and if a stable economy like that takes that step the ripple effect on the already over taxed spoiled nanny state citizens of the other powers would follow.

here in the US we are all AMERICANS. our states are bankrupt but none the less they are americans, another thing would be to bail out suffer hardships for the portuguese, or the canadians. that is how the europeans think, they are Finns, Germans, French not just simply european.


the US and their debt, is big, 14,000,000,000,000 and counting HOWEVER, inflation adjusted and relative to GDP we have had worse times of debt. the panic of the USD is intentionally being caused by the FED policies, if the feds tighten up money supply. You would see a recovery of the green back.

the whole financial system dances to the tune of the RESERVE CURRENCY.

USD is nothing but the glue, and it is necessary. It's value is not important as far as non-residents are concerned.
