You damn right, you will never ever learn from an Indy. It takes 5 minutes to find them and you will find PA that sticks in your mind that you will see again. You will look at a chart and say "heck, same as yesterday", "I saw this before".... etc.

It's your experience, don't think we'll be able to find that to that precision in history ourselves .

But the only way you are going to get close to my experience level is by doing it yourself. You will never learn anything from an Indy, only from price and history.

The biggest reason why there are so few traders now that know what they are doing is because too many depend on crutches and shortcuts and will continually find themselves surprised by the PA.

Old hands at this are rarely surprised. I rarely, if ever have a WTF moment, I know what I am looking for and if it changes I instantly know why and what to look for instead.

practice and experience and more practice and chart watching and chart watching and more practice, over and over and over again, day in day out, month in month out, year in year out, IMO the only way to learn this business...

Yeah, like burning the price course into the head so you can trust your intuition. Difficult to have a life aside that though, but hey, I don't have any anyways, fits well

IF you want 7 figures a year, you cannot afford a life for the next 12 months, just imagine the life you have for the rest of your life by giving up a tiny bit now......

IF you just want pocket change for a hobby, then continue treating this as a hobby and that's what it will ever be.

you're kidding, to have that amount I'd have to have a matching account size (better than leverage, I'm on 1:10 which is still too much). for now I'm happy if I can survive and pay the electricity bill of the earnings.

Listen buddy, anyone that approaches this seriously can turn 1k into 500 k in a year. Don't worry about the leverage now, once you get your losses to less then 10 pips and your winners mutliples of that one, leverage will become your best friend.

IF you want this to make a difference in your life like nothing else can or will, then start thinking differently.

When I first started FX, I locked myself in a room for a year, 20 hours a day and did not come out till I had climbed that mountain.

Now I will gladly sit here for 20-40 hours in a stretch knowing the things I can afford now that I could only dream of before.

There is no other business right now that could sustain my lifestyle and spending habits.

You're right, have to be much more serious with it, it's not a game finally.

Would you mind describing your approach to risk management? like what percentage do you risk on how many positions per trade with which leverage?

Hahaa, no worries, I appreciate it.
Guess it's even more difficult to withstand that since I'm used to making indicators. But he is damn right, that's of no use, it disconnects you. The goal is to reduce information on screen and have it at hand intuitively instead.
