Hi Scrutch,

Is there any particular sequence you do when you first start your trading day? ie.

1) look for 3T 4H, when you don't find any move on to next method,

2) 1H 4CBO when there aren't any settups or trigger move on to next,

3) Z.C.

?
Thank you.

NuB...The first thing I look for is the strength of the currency.
This morning all the jpy's were going down...
The jpy is the quote currency so when it's down that shows strength.
The same with the us$ this morning...where it's the quote, it's down and where it's the base (leading) currency, it's up...showing strength.
The cad is not showing much strength this morning so I'm going to try and find a quickie for a few pips on the H1 charts.

After that it's a bit hard for me to explain...
"Usually", what I watch is the H1 chart for BO's, either H1-4C-BO or a congestion BO.
I can visualize the H4-3T on a H1 chart so I don't often go there...only to draw a snapped trendline to verify the taps.
I watch PA to see what the "probes" are telling me on the lower time frames.
IF...I see a minor retracement against the direction of the move...I'm watching that very close...along with the recent "probes" (wicks).

I've taken 50% profit on the CJ move and moved my SL to BE+.
I may or may not let it trigger...PA is in retracement mode at the moment so that has my attention.

Hey peeps, kinda busy here working, but what a night! and a crazy morning... My new goal is to tame "The Beast" GBPJPY, most volatile pair ever... Shaved off +100 pips today, but I can't believe I had a sell order at 135.83 last night and closed it, just to reopen later... I would be up 250 pips!!! Still happy though..

Can somebody answer my questions. 1.If we have 2 touches on 4h. is it enough to trade the third candle or we must wait 3 full touchies and trade just fourth candle? 2.if we have 3 touchies and want to sell, but the 4th candle go first up to trendline, so we can sell near the trendline, formed by 3 previous candles, or we must wait untill RSI3 will show down? because always rsi on 4h. normally is against W, D rsi initially. So, we dont sell from trendline but sell at worse price when 4h,rsi show down too? Thank you,

Lol I'm with you.. i sold at 135.65.. made my gap and called it good, but geez.. that would've been a nice one.. but it was really whippy for a while there, looked like it was gonna tap my gap fill and rocket off into outer space.. so i closed.. and im not mad at those 30 pips.. but maybe leaving half on would be nice after this one.. hmm

Hi Doc...
"My new goal is to tame "The Beast""
IMHO...This is a very lofty goal...please approach this with caution.
It's been fairly docile lately but sooner or later...
(it's not a question of "if" but rather a question of "when")...
the Beast will raise it's head and the fur will be stroked the wrong way.
Taking the trade off while you sleep is an excellent idea.

Good to see that you're banking pips

... Thanks, Scrutch.. I totally agree... Many a trader has tried it and got killed repeatedly... I meant rather to "ride" the beast as opposed to taming it... Just saw the movie "How to train your dragon" kids riding flying dragons and such... i'm thinking of rather getting on and off the monster as opposed to making it my friend..
Many pips to ya...

Don't know much about training any dragons...there aren't many of those around here.

I do have a bit of knowledge about "riding" though and I can assure you that 8 seconds seems to be right close to a lifetime.

A bit off topic I'm sure...will cease now.

New to the thread and already loving it, simple and clean.

Question though, any idea of a trade management EA. I know Cavemanager but it gets me confused with it numerous inouts and selections.

All help appreciated.

How about GBP/NZD? It´s fairly volatile also and mowes fast, but it seems to act little more predictable way. Last weekend, while I made some 4H analysis with G/U I realised that most of the significant moves it makes is during the two candles of London open and London/ny. There are false BO´s as there always is, but if you are interested, just go through on 4 H last couple of months or so and look when it mowes. With G/U there were more BO´s last autumn than this spring. May be related to trending? I will check GBP/NZD more thoroughly sometime soon. In case you are intrested of the backtest results from G/U I did last weekend, you can find them from the page 3 at our testing thread. Trade naked - testing thread.

The chart panel is from another method on FF, you will have to adjust the settings from the properties if you want to make certain things visible or not.

as for the trend display first page first post.
