Other days they say consumer spending will be down (which is not good for stocks) because of rise in oil.

They "talk out of both sides of their mouth".

Good thing they take liquid lunches at Harry's at Hanover otherwise they could be accused of talking out of both sides of a full mouth.

sp been rising on low volume....it has left a lot of trader hanging and in red now...they dont know where the top it...they keep shorting the heck out of it ..

I dont believe in any bank recommendation, whoever that is.
I dont want to start discussion on whether oil should be 80 or 200. But this guys are far behind people who called bull run in commodities years ago, which by the way I believe is still intact. Correction? Yes. Top? I truly doubt it.

No doubt that they have great traders. But the market analysis is done by their analysts, not traders. Well, thats ok too. But occasionally GS and other banks fail to disclose various information to the supervising authorities like SEC (Financial Times has articles on that if you wish to read them)... That's a bit naughty, but hell who cares - it only costs $550 mln or so in fines. Anyway, I wouldn't rely on a single source of information for anything.
