I might take a glance at a chart, but I normally don't trade anything after the ny close anymore. Instead, I'll wait for whatever happens during this time to start a trend. If the trend has started and is defined by around 5 or 6am, then I'll place my trade(s).Alot of times if I take a trade off my interpretation of what economic news is reported it seems as if I'm going against the trend.This makes me feel like out of ALL the traders in the world I'm the only one going against the grain. I guess its kind of a law of large numbers kinda thing.

Exactly, I don't trade after London close, maybe on 4 hour only, but that doesn't happen very often... And I never trade the news. By the way, 5-6 am looks like Tokyo close, doesn't it? How do you know the trend established in the Asian session is not going to be reversed by the European banks/traders with the news coming out in the morning?

In fact, it usually is reversed during this time.At least for cable, it reverses almost on cue. Fibre does the same, just doesn't react as quickly as cable does, at least for me anyways. Might have to do with me feeling more comfortable with cable than fibre.

A wise man once told me "London Rules this B!tch!" And this has and will remain true.I try to get in halfway through the London session to get my pips before I've gotta leave. If I'm at my desk all day I might let one trade ride until the end of the London session.The daily high or daily low will usually be made at this time.

7-8 hour cycles . An I/T trend will burn itself most of the time.. Check out the Wormhole.

Yes, but then there is NY and NYSE open, which reverses London PA... Although I am 5min TF junky, lately I am thinking 1hour entries off a daily chart are a lot less stressful.

Just curious...what is your methodology/ system?

I see from your profile that you are into a variety of stuff. Could you explain in simplistic terms ....your personal methodology ...
or specifically how you junk out on M5?

The ny session will reverse it as it tries to throw its weight around, but not until London has its say by establishing the day's hi or lo. I use to start my trading day at 11am and always get burned trading the trend because ny would start its reversal just as I was enterring and trying to go with the established trend.
This is why I go for 10-30 pips on the day. Anything after that is gravy.

What a boring day at the charts. Still short for now, off to a dinner. Good luck! Price is still not too bad to get in....as slow as this is moving it will probably be the same price when I get back tonight ha

I wouldn't say that it happens 100%, sometimes it does and sometime it doesn't. Forex market is too complicated for that, in my view. I prefer to look at the price action and support and resistance on a longer TF for a trend and to establish potential entries and exits. It is game of probabilities after all.
