I hear ya. Since I'm away from my desk most of the day, I guess you could say I'm somewhat of a swing trader at times. I just couldn't bring myself to having a 10 sl. Almost none of my trades would go beyond five minutes. The wierd/cool thing is that alot of my trades that start out as short term (five minutes) can turn into long-term(an hour). Like magix said, once the 200ma gets taken out on say the 5M, then my trade could stay open until it goes to test the 200ma on the 15M,then the 30M and so on.If I've already had two or three 10-15 pip winners in the morning before leaving, i might cut the lot size of the next trade and set a bigger sl and tp and leave it open for the day.I set the sl so that if it does get hit it would only equal half of my already-taken profits.

do these DPP mean anything anymore these days? LOL. second time (day) within a week it was not hit.

10 pips ooooh boyeee. I save myself a lot of headaches by trading higher timeframes and leave the "scalping" to others.

I feel your pain here dude!

Last week I had three 40pip Stop Losses triggered by 2 micro pips each, just for PA to reverse to my TP's.

Really thought FXCM was taking the piss at me!

Narrow range will do that. Once ranges expand back comes the usefullness.

I really wouldn't doubt it to be honest, FXCM has a lot of bad rumors circling them and I've noticed their PA spikes off from Oanda and Alpari quite a bit. I know a few tinfoil hatters who don't use SLs because of this.

sometimes it hapen to me too... 1 pip to TP... SL by 1 pip then reverse...
it's the price of dicipline...

I'm close to making a decision... don't want to start ranting again, but sometimes I get quoted a 2.3 spread, you enter a trade in direction of PA...and suddenly you are down 4.1

Just doesn't make sense!

I know it's suppose to be "you're" but my mom is an english prof. and so my brother and I use to do it on purpose as an inside joke so much that we now do it without thinking about it when it's not required that we have to be correct 100% of the time.You should've seen my IM spelling way back when I used it.Ever since i was finished with the gmat my mind has been on vacation.
Yea this global warming has taken the fun out of summer for me. I'm hot by nature, so during the summer if there are errands that need to be run I do them around 6pm or later. I have to deal with people hauling there boats around,but it beats being out when your car's ac doesn't matter if it's going at full blast.

Have you ever been the trader that goes for 10-30 pips, have you always been going for the bigger scores?
Do you watch the screen all day, or leave it alone after you've pulled the trigger?

I dont ever guess ...i analyse what i see.

I prefer to carry on learning by studying and comparing my charts with other traders.

Dont know about you but some of the best charts i've been priveledged to study dont carry a readable time stamp....some do, some dont ..its all good .

nah. I doubt cspan will have it live. They usually have what cnbc covers live throughout the day later on that night.Not sure. If I find it I'll most def. post that it is live for you.
