Excellent reply Bel...Was hoping we would get one of the VSA'ers if not Mother Mal himself chiming in on this...

I have read threw and studied a quite a few of Hiddengaps charts and posts as well as relate the same information from my days as watching volumes in the stock markets. Someplace in the mix they make a fair amount of sense.

IF we had seen a massive high volume bar and clean broken threw that DTL, I would say that we stand a better chance at the higher highs...but like you pointed out, we haven't even gotten to that point, so assumption...

Great posts as always... the main reason that I am still leaning more towards this weekly bar as being sheer absorption and a final push thru that supply we have been battling at 1.4 and that we could still see higher than 4280 is that we have just had the highest weekly close since the week of July 19th 2009. Is it going to be tough... damn right.

Going back to the end of 2008 we have entered this 4000-4300 zone from below 3 times (not counting this one) and 2 of 3 have resulted in a stop of the move upward. One time in 2009 we pushed through (but it took alomost 4 months to do so) making that years high at 5140.

We will see 4280 this week and as you said we should see some good reaction there... time will tell I guess.
Today's zone = Tomorrow's opportunity!

oh no no no. I'm sorry if it came across that way. i see why me replying to your message can be interpreted that way. I was not referring at you AT ALL. I just started from your message talking about oldquant and and then on about other so called senior members and then I went on and on (maybe more than i should have been). Again NONE of these things were in reference with you. Sorry about that.

attila,
if you are refferring to me as ahhh, then i take it in a good natured manner from you, the thing is we know each other, I know that you are a good trader, so if you think i was picking on you or your language or speech, you are wrong in your assumption, and i understand why. The members of that famous gang where tortured, you and i know that ,so enough said. except that i too had the same mentor and we both will never forget the contributions and lessons learned. I just don't waste time on responses anymore too much fun to just Trade.

Cummon pres...say it with a chart brother...

lol

Again, thankful for another VSA'er stopping in with a couple of words and market opinion...as the saying goes, conscientious consumers make better customers, so as far as a market take, proper trading through market interpretation makes for better profits, or knowledge is power...you pick...

On the idea of reaction...

Let's have a look at the DX chart...

When there was a ltl, there was a reaction, now that we have a double tap here, could we expect another reaction, test topside resistance before another run at a break? Is it possible that the Euro can still gain strength over the USD if the USD finds support here again?

Speculation through the weekend is just that, speculation, but a close consideration of all information can make for the best overall understanding.

Thanks for the reply pres.

Magix, will you please share what indi you are using that creates the verticle lines on your weekly chart? They appear to be some sort of momentum but have never seen this indicator before. Thank you!

Cummon Anna...

After all your Mad Ass posts about being able to find the trades, you didn't find a single short last week in 2 x 150ish retrace opportunities?

Save the rhetoric for the elitists and morons that will back you on this shit...here you just come off as being an irritating Snatch...

Moi? short the euro? dont think so... one either has to be a gambler, not know what they are doing, or just plain suicidal to short the euro... its all about money flows mate... if 4230 areas dont hold it, then its hellooooooo 1.50 and there isnt one thing you can do about it

I was on the buy side with eurusd and on the short side against another, which already mentioned... life would be a lot easier if some people just listened..

next week is fundamental for the dollar, its do or die.... as I said if it breaks into 4250, 60, 80, and 4300, then its goodbye dollar, and hello 1.5xxx

pay attention magix

Peace and love buddy

Now Sweety...

Just because you are sucking tits in the big boys room and playing the game with OPL doesn't mean a Gawd Damned thing to anybody here...

Again, I question the ability of somebody who failed to find a trade in a double dipped zone of 150 pips, but hey...that's just the way I see things.

Playing the Euro Cheerleader doesn't make you look anymore impressive then your bold statements of gambling and market suicide...just makes you again come off sounding like one of those elitist assholes that nobody else likes either...

Have fun with your commish check...go buy yourself something really nice.

I got highest weekly tick vol in two years (Alpari UK).

I doubt it will peak where everyone expects, if we get the peak this coming week and it touches off the TL, then I anticipate it to come in around 431x to 2x...

Wrong again, and 2x in the same post.

1. I don't think you will find a lot of people agreeing with you on the "used to be a nice guy" thang, I always been a prick and really pride myself on it.

2. Made out like a bandit on my EUR trades, both longs and shorties...not to mention my JPY pairs and a nice take on even the USDCAD longs from the week prior...

I trade off a quicker chart Anna. I don't consider taking my trades anymore gambling then you do off yours. We are fortunate in the game we play that we can dictate our own rules of conduct.

All the best to ya...

"The NCAA Tournament TV schedule is really the only thing that should be on your mind today. Trust me, your to-do list can wait."

I just Googled the NCAA basketball schedule to see when my Cinderella team Gonzaga was playing. I hate it when someone is so full of themselves that they think the world revolves around them. Pa'sh, I say.

Beyond hoops though, forex is also on my mind today, so I came here, read the last pages, and have a couple observations:

1. I'm just hearing from the next room that the US, UK, and France just attacked Libya. I feared that when I got a report last night that Providence was off Libya: that's the cruise missile sub that traditionally fires the first flights of cruise missiles, and it did. Libya has threatened retaliation on European military and civilian targets. That's not good.

2. There's almost not a single "short" voice anywhere here, at least until this or that number... That's not good.

3. Yesterday I posted a corn (proxy for US exports) chart v a E/USD chart. One of the things I didn't mention there is that there is almost never a break in US export product prices that is not attended by a break in the E/D. That's not good.

So, from the standpoint of event risk in the numerator of E/U pair, cynical contrarian mythology, behavior in the denominator of the E/U pair, not everything is pointing to the roaring bull to 1.4$$$.

Just keep the ship level and our eyes open, s'all I'm sayin'.

And, go Gonzaga, and tomorrow, go Arizona.

Hey Archie. How is the weekend going? I see the conversations are just about on par for the norm here in this thread... haha.

Been eyeballing a few sports bikes for this up and coming summer. Been wanting one for near 5 years now, and am absolutely in love with the Suzuki GSX-R's... Best sex on 2 wheels anyone could ask for.

Good so far. I need to get back into cycling... the ol' body would get some good use out of it.

I've been spending the weekend getting my baby (Pontiac GTO) back out from her slumber, and getting her all cleaned up and polished. Bloody battery went bad on me, as I never kept a trickle charger on it. No biggie though, and I know it's my fault for not keeping it properly cycled. Oh wells... hah.
